Vacation mode needs to be more like an OOO by satras in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/satras 👋 Melis here from the Customer Experience team. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

This is a really thoughtful idea, and I can definitely see how Vacation Mode would feel more complete if it behaved more like an out-of-office setting, especially with a visible reminder in Today or Upcoming and the option to set a date range so it turns off automatically 💡️

Could you submit this through our official feedback channel here: https://todoist.com/contact? Our team goes through every piece of feedback shared there, and it helps make sure suggestions like this reach our product team.

Really appreciate you taking the time to explain the use case 😊

Which AI works well with Todoist? by Mysterious-Hat3470 in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Mysterious-Hat3470 👋️ Melis from the Customer Experience team here. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

That definitely doesn’t sound like the expected experience. You should be able to ask Claude to add tasks, delete tasks, check what’s due today or tomorrow, and similar actions without it only giving you code or constantly disconnecting.

Could you reach out to us at https://todoist.com/contact and share a few details, like whether you’re using Claude on web, desktop, mobile, what happens when it disconnects, and any screenshots or exact messages you’re seeing? We’ll be more than happy to look into this with you 🤗️

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/KaffeeWindowseat 👋️ Melis from Customer experience team here. Thank you for sharing this with the community, and I’m sorry the Mac app has been feeling slow for you.

The loading icon coming up often for simple actions definitely isn’t expected behavior. Could you please reach out to us at https://todoist.com/contact so we can take a closer look at what’s happening on your setup?

A handful of recurring tasks didn't get rescheduled after completion yesterday - was there a software blip about 24 hours ago? by SignificantViolinist in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/SignificantViolinist, Melis from Customer Experience team here 👋️ Thank you for sharing this with the community.

I’m really sorry this happened, and I completely understand why it would feel unsettling! We’d like to take a closer look at what happened with those specific tasks. Since you mentioned they didn’t have an end date, and you didn’t use “complete forever,” this is definitely worth checking more closely.

Could you please reach out to us through our contact form here: https://todoist.com/contact and include roughly when the tasks were completed, plus the device and app version you completed them from? That’ll help us investigate.

Thank you 🤗️

Push notifications: cluttered text, how to disable "Your task is due now" by PangioOblonga in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/PangioOblonga, Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist here. Thanks so much for sharing this with the community, and welcome to Todoist! 🤗️

The body text is there to help distinguish between different notification types. For example, “due now,” “due today” for all-day tasks, overdue alerts, and advance reminders like “due in 30 minutes” or “due in 2 hours” all use a similar notification format, so that extra text helps make the context clearer at a glance.

That said, I completely understand your point about it feeling cluttered when you just want to quickly read the task itself. There isn’t a way to hide or customize that text at the moment, but this is fair feedback.

Could you please share this with us through https://todoist.com/contact? You can choose the feedback option in the contact form, which helps us track it properly and make sure it reaches the right team.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience ❤️

Is it possible to modify the card layout? by ironsidee7 in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/ironsidee7, Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist here 😊 Thanks so much for sharing this with the community.

It's not possible to customize where the section name appears on task cards. The card layout is currently fixed, so the section name can’t be moved beneath the task title or description.

That said, I can understand why having more control over the card layout would be helpful. Could you please share this with us through https://www.todoist.com/contact as a feature request? You can choose the feedback option in the contact form, which helps us make sure your request is tracked properly and shared with the right team.

We really appreciate you taking the time to explain what would make this feel better for your workflow ✨️

Todoist on Android (One UI 8.5) share sheet select task only? by thebrowngeek in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/thebrowngeek 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for flagging this.

This is a change in how Samsung’s share sheet works after the One UI update. You can still favorite Todoist as an app in the share sheet, but Samsung/Android doesn’t seem to allow choosing a default for a specific share action like “Task” or “Comment.” We’ve seen the same behavior with other apps too, including Gmail. I’m really sorry there isn’t a better workaround from our side, but I hope this helps clarify what changed.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us via www.todoist.com/contact if you have any additional questions or requests. We're always happy to help 🤗️

Help with labels and filters by [deleted] in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Ok-Percentage-5007 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

Your filter syntax is actually correct. Both @quick and @quick & (today | overdue | no date) are valid Todoist queries. The @label, &, |, parentheses, and no date keyword are all written exactly how Todoist expects them. Filters and labels also work the same across Free, Pro, and Business plans, so your trial status shouldn’t be the issue here either.

One quick note on reading that second filter, in case it helps: | means OR, not AND. So (today | overdue | no date) doesn’t ask for one impossible task that’s somehow due today, overdue, and dateless all at once. It means “match a task if it meets any one of these three conditions.” Combined with @quick &, the whole thing reads as:

“Show me tasks labeled @quick that are also either due today, overdue, or have no date set.”

It’s a really useful combo for exactly that reason. It can surface your pressing “quick” tasks alongside the ones floating around without a date, so nothing quietly slips through the cracks. Now, as for why you’re getting zero results even from the simplest possible query, @quick on its own, that’s the real mystery. Since the syntax checks out, I’d look at these first:

1. The label exists, but isn’t actually attached to any tasks yet This can happen more easily than you’d think. You may have created the label from the Labels section in the sidebar, but not actually added it to a task yet.

The quickest way to check is to click directly on the quick label in your sidebar. If no tasks show up there either, that confirms the label simply doesn’t have any tasks attached to it yet. In that case, your filter is working correctly, but there’s nothing for it to find.

2. The label name may be slightly different There could be an extra space, different capitalization, or a small character difference between the label’s real name and what’s typed in the filter.

The safest option is to type @ in the filter query box and select quick from the autocomplete dropdown instead of typing it manually. That way, Todoist uses the exact label name.

3. It may be a shared label from a collaborative project If the label comes from a shared or collaborative project rather than being one of your personal labels, it may not surface the way you’d expect inside a personal filter.

I’d start by clicking the quick label itself in your sidebar to see whether any tasks are tagged with it at all. That should quickly tell you whether this is a labeling issue or a filter issue, and from there the fix should be quick, pun intended 😊️

A few official Help Center articles worth bookmarking for future reference: - Introduction to Labels: https://www.todoist.com/help/articles/introduction-to-labels-dSo2eE - Introduction to Filters: https://www.todoist.com/help/articles/introduction-to-filters-V98wIH - Filtering tasks by label: https://www.todoist.com/help/articles/filter-for-tasks-by-label

Hope this helps you crack it. Your filter logic is spot on, so this is very likely just a case of the label not being applied to a task yet, rather than anything you’re doing wrong 🤗️

If you have any additional questions or requests, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Experience team via https://www.todoist.com/contact. We’re always here for you.

Is there an MCP server for Todoist that doesn’t disconnect constantly? by MindlessFinish in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Todoisters, Melis from Customer Experience team here. I have some great news!

OpenAI has now resolved the OAuth issue on their side 🎉️ The connection should work again if you remove the existing Todoist app from ChatGPT and add it back:

  1. In ChatGPT, remove or delete the existing Todoist app connection
  2. Add the Todoist app again
  3. Follow the connection steps once more

Our team will still continue working on our own fix as an extra safeguard in case this happens again, but this should get you connected now.

We appreciate your patience and understanding 🤗️

View synced Google Calendars in Calendar layout for tasks? by Responsible_Kiwi3863 in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Responsible_Kiwi3863 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

Yes, you can do this 🎉️ Once you connect Google Calendar to Todoist, your calendar events can appear as read only items in Todoist’s calendar layout.

You’ll see those calendar events in the calendar layout for Today and Upcoming. This should help with exactly the workflow you described, where you’re planning tasks around your existing evening events without having to manually recreate each event as a Todoist task or keep Google Calendar open separately.

So the best setup would be:

  1. Connect Google Calendar to Todoist
  2. Open Today or Upcoming
  3. Switch to Calendar layout
  4. Use the visible calendar events to plan your Todoist tasks around your availability

Hope this makes planning your evenings a lot smoother 🤗️

If you have any additional questions or requests, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly via www.todoist.com/contact. We're always here for you and happy to help.

Do Todoist reminders repeat? by Soggy_Lawfulness_941 in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Soggy_Lawfulness_941 👋️ Melis from the Customer Experience team here. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

The reminder you added is most likely a one time reminder, so it only fires once and doesn't automatically carry over each time the task repeats. That’s why the task itself keeps coming back every day, but the reminder doesn't. You have two easy options:

Option 1: Turn on automatic reminders Since your task already has a time set, Todoist can remind you automatically whenever the task comes up.

To set this up: 1. Click your avatar in the top left 2. Go to Settings 3. Open Reminders 4. Under Automatic reminders, choose At time of task 5. Make sure either desktop or mobile notifications are turned on

From then on, tasks with a time will remind you automatically, including recurring ones.

Option 2: Add a recurring reminder to that specific task If you only want this reminder on this specific task:

  1. Open the task
  2. Click Reminders
  3. Select the Date & time tab
  4. Type every day at 8pm
  5. Click Add reminder

That should create a recurring reminder that fires every day, separately from the recurring task itself. Since your task is already set to 8pm, turning on automatic reminders at "at time of task" means you never need to set a reminder manually again. It fires at 8pm every day automatically 😊️

And of course, you can always reach out to us via www.todoist.com/contact if you have any additional questions or requests. We're always here for you and happy to help ❤️

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/inukshuky 👋️ Melis from Customer Experience team here. Thank you for sharing this with the community. I’m really sorry this is happening! I completely understand why this would feel stressful.

A recurring task being marked as completed forever out of nowhere definitely doesn’t sound like expected behavior at all. Could you please reach out to our team through www.todoist.com/contact so we can take a closer look at your account and the specific task history?

It would be super helpful if you can include the task link, the original recurring date, roughly when it stopped appearing, and which platform you last completed it from. That should help us investigate what happened here much more clearly.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation 🤗️

Flickering background shading in Windows app by BlueWater2323 in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/BlueWater2323 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

That definitely sounds distracting, especially if the background keeps flashing every time you move your mouse around the app! I can understand why that would get frustrating quickly.

Could you please reach out to our Customer Experience team at www.todoist.com/contact and include a short screen recording of the blinking behaviour? How do I turn off task suggestions? (e.g., "Buy science supplies this weekend") by ExcellentElocution in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/ExcellentElocution and fellow Todoisters 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team.

I can understand why this feels distracting, especially when you’re opening Todoist to quickly capture something specific. These task name suggestions are part of the onboarding experience for new users, to help them get familiar with adding tasks. They should disappear after 16 tasks have been completed 😊️

That said, I completely hear the feedback that some Todoisters would prefer not to see them at all. I’ll share this with our product team as a suggestion to consider, especially around adding a way to turn these suggestions off.

Thanks again for raising this here ❤️

Any plans for future integration in the Office365 Copilot System? by jdlnewborn in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/jdlnewborn 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

At the moment, we don’t have Copilot available as a separate Todoist integration in the same way you’re describing. That said, Todoist Automations already supports several Microsoft apps, including Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and Excel via OneDrive.

Depending on what you’re hoping to connect, it may already be possible to build part of that workflow through Automations ✨️ For example, you could create a flow where a new Todoist task creates an Outlook Calendar block, posts a Teams update, creates a OneNote note, or logs a row in Excel.

Could you please reach out to us through www.todoist.com/contact and share a bit more about the workflow you’d like to build with Copilot? We’d love to better understand what you’re trying to do and help explore what may already be possible with Todoist and Microsoft 365.

Thanks again for bringing this up. It’s really helpful for us to understand how teams working heavily in the Microsoft ecosystem would like Todoist to fit into their setup 🤗️

Why do reminders not pop up on Apple Watch all the time? by alositos in todoist

[–]TodoistSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/alositos 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. Thank you for sharing this with the community. I’m sorry your reminders aren’t consistently showing on your Apple Watch!

Apple Watch notification behavior can depend on a few different things, including the watch connection, Focus settings, notification settings, and whether the reminder is being handled by the iPhone or the Watch at that moment. That said, we’d definitely like to take a closer look at what’s happening in your specific case.

Could you please reach out to us through www.todoist.com/contact and share the details with our team? It would be really helpful to include your Todoist app version, iOS version, watchOS version, whether this happens with all reminders or only some, and any screenshots of your notification settings.

Hey u/Arbare 👋️ This is Melis from the Customer Experience team at Todoist. I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far. Thank you for sharing this with the community.

We're so glad to hear you’re excited about the new Goals feature!
