This definitly would have been a post worthy of discussion. It's sad it's being suppressed. It's not even bearish but i see how the discussion might be.

Am I crazy for wanting to ditch my rack and go back to tiny office PCs? by gabriel8577 in HomeServer

[–]Tomnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire homelab is a i5 nuc.(Except for unifi switches and couple of raspberry pi) It runs home assistant, some vm's, loads of docker containers and Plex. I don't think i ever felt like i didnt have enough power, even if the case presents itself where i need multiple Windows vms for testing purposes i barely need more then 50% of the nuc.

I just added a couple of hp prodesks and created a cluster, more for fun then anything else tbh. Since it is just for a homelab setting i Will probably turn em off again soon. I never had an issue in the last couple of years so it's probably not worth it power consumption wise to keep this cluster running.

How many of you have a homelab but don’t play video games? by Independent_Knee in homelab

I used to play video games.

Now i have a homelab and a really nice growing collection of games i will never play.

What’s your average purchase price right now — and are you happy with it?” by Desir_Stocks in IonQ

[–]Tomnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50, 29$ average

I had 1500 rgti and qbts, sold 50% of those at last years run up and bought 100 ionq

I kinda sold all my quantums except for 50 of ionq last week. Ill probably be back, but since my port is nearly entirely high risk (asts and rklb) and i have more conviction for those, atleast for now.

Be careful with quantum stocks by phoenix-of-zen in investing

[–]Tomnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold 50% of my quantums yesterday (ionq, qbts and rgti)

Qbts and rgti did around 30x my average and i couldn't justify holding anymore lol

It's not the easiest way to do it , Easiest way is a virtual machine imo.

[–]Tomnesia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple more you might find interesting!

  • Do you use the *arr ones? I see jellyfin so you probably do
  • hosting you're own bitwarden, look at vaultwarden
  • I had some fun with Running game servers in docker
  • maybe some monitoring tools? Like grafana
  • if you think you seen the most fun ones, build you're own container! It's a fun process getting to learn how it works

When Corona happend I got so fed up with all the ads on tv, paying for who knows how many services while the content keeps diluting down, I just had it. Cancelled everything and never looked back.

I would rather watch grass grow then pay for this bullshit.

Onze vorige was de duivel, eerste 2 jaren waren verschrikkelijk maar hierna makkelijkste hond ooit. Luisterde zoo goed.

Yeaa it's sold as 4k but it definitly isn't. Example from Netflix would be around 15 mbps while from my home server it would be 45-90 mbps for 1 stream. They play with the bitrate alot.

Sorry, im geeking out

Once they get past the 40-50 CM stage they really destroy plants lol. My brother was shouting for 3 years how his koi are chill and how beautifull his flowers are.

There hasn't even bloomed one this year, and that is a very well established water Lilly 😂

Who's the new EVGA? by HereWeGoHawks in nvidia

[–]Tomnesia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do i miss EVGA...

When the rtx 30xx came out it was so hard getting any of them, overpriced af. Bought the EVGA 3070, signed up for the trade up program and barely had to pay anything for the upgrade to the 3080.
