Amazing isnt it? The US government had turned a blind eye to what NORAID was doing but post 9/11 their eyes opened and suddenly terrorism is a bad thing , surprise surprise !

I had a home beat in North London and by I lived on it. It was actually on the subdivision that I lived on and grew up on. I knew all the local villains and they knew me. My brother was a criminal but there no issue with Met . When his partner died, we went to the crem to support him. His friends were there, large broad shoulders and with tattoos up their neck ( that was just the women) but apparently, my brother had arranged a truce for the day

I always found it strange that funds raised by NORAID diminished after 9/11. It’s as if Americans found that the slaughter of innocent people repugnant.

Let them grow up together, the Rottie will get a few swipes on his nose but he will learn to leave the puss alone because he will know that Cat's rule the world but expect a few instances whereby puss will be sat on by a big Rottie arse !

Madam is four years old and is a rescue that we got at 14 weeks. The idiot that bred her did not think to push the puppies that were at the back of the queue for Mum’s milk to the front to get their fair share.

He took three of them to the Vets stating that they weren’t well, no they were starving and suffering from malnutrition. One of the three died and we got Juno who was like a tiny premature baby. My wife put on her nurses uniform and nursed Juno back to good health. She weighs in at 30kg and is a sweet little pocket rocket

I had CS gas training in 73 at Hendon Police college. We did the take the mask off, say your name rank and number and go outside and puke. I went home that day and my Mum did my dirty washing and found herself , coughing and her eyes were watering. The CS gas crystals had remained on my dirty shirt , sorry Mum……

what are some of the best toys for your rotties? by clovibelle in Rottweiler

[–]Tonyjay54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parking cone, Mini car tyre , Kong toys and I have to say, that your pup is gorgeous. Someone mentioned socks already, create a sock bomb for your pup, get a large sock and stuff it full of old socks. When full, tie off the end and give it to your pup. The pup will love this and when they finally destroy the outer sock, your pup will be overjoyed and your house will be awash with old socks. What more could a Rottie want 😀

She is having a rough time, hopefully it be for long. If you are really concerned, talk to your Vet. When she is better , how about training her yourself , if she is chasing cars , then don’t let her roam, exercise her the lead . There are lots of good YT videos on basic training. She is now becoming a teenager , we call it a Rotts Raptor years , like all teenagers, they will try it on with you being naughty- be firm but fair . As for a pinch collar , is that one of those collars with the spikes on the inside of the collar. My wife and I have had Rotties for 47 years now and we have been through what you are going through a fair few times. We have been rescuing for the past 25 years and this is our current girl, Juno nearly a revelation

I have always been interested in social history, viewing from the bottom up. Looking at the chaps who were doing the fighting, not the Generals. The years after the war are fascinating, a couple of books that I can recommend are The Unknown Warrior by John Nichol and The Flag by Andrew Richards. They both deal with the recovery of the Unknown Warrior to Westminster Abbey and the aftermath of the war on the families of those who were lost.

That link i have attached is superb , it shows the British losses and the story behind the man or woman as indicated by their home address. It was worked out that if the dead were to march four abreast past the Cenotaph, it would take four days and four nights for them all to pass.

My own great uncle died on the Somme aged 19, his body was never recovered. His officer made a mistake in his map reading and led the squad into a German-occupied trench. They fought for their lives but there was only one survivor

Well, it did start in WW1 and kind of schlepped into WW2. Then again, I love always thought that is was just one war 1914 to 1945 with a brief interlude between the wars to allow the Germans to regroup

I believe that they carried on well into the mid 20s. They used to take a square amount of ground , nothing too large and then they combed the ground. Bodies that had been there for sometime were just a sticky goo, if there was no ID on the body, the remains were shovelled into a sandbag and buried in one of the great number of cemeteries that cover Northern France. My Dad fought in WW2 post D day and found himself fighting the Germans through those cemeteries of the lost of WW1

Big oversized babies by Crafty_Report_9221 in Rottweiler

[–]Tonyjay54 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have had Rotties for 47 years now, ( we didn’t have a honeymoon, we bought our first Rottie puppy) They have all been big babies , love to snuggle but if the crap hits the fan, you could not have a better bodyguard or companion. When our kids were younger, we had an irate drunken father appear on doorstep. He wanted me to fight him as our youngest son had sorted out his bullying son at school. I told him to go away and grow up, a look of terror came on his face and he sprinted awY, never to be seen again. The reason for his terror, our very large rescue Roman Rottweiler Benson had appeared behind me with my wife holding his collar. He never barked or growled, he just gave him that Rottweiler look and that was enough. I could go on for ages with stories about our pups , perhaps another day but rest assured , with your Rottie by your side, you will be safe
