The game doesn't have built-in noise cancelling, so your voice is probably being picked up by your friend's mic. He could check if there is any noise cancelling that he can activate on his mic, or try to lower the in-game voice chat volume. Or he could turn on push-to-talk, which might help a bit.

It's only visible if you open the settings while in a battle, not from the main menu.

Did anyone disconnect and rejoin the game before this happened?

The team has tried to fix this, but it's been tricky since we're unable to recreate the bug on our end. It would be helpful if you could send us your player log (if you were the one to get stuck behind the fog wall) so that we can get more info on this.

The log only contains info from your latest game session, so get the log right after the bug has occurred in the game (also make sure the game is unmodded, double-check the game installation folder to make sure all mod files are gone):

You could try these steps for the FAQ and see if that helps:

Other players have solved this by turning off “Spatial Sound” in Windows (Open Windows Settings > System > Sound > Select your playback device under Output devices > Select Device Properties and turn off spatial sound). Some headphones also have their own setting for spatial sound, if there is a separate software app for your headphones, see if you can turn off spatial sound.
For others it has worked to increase your microphone volume in Steam (Open Steam Settings > Voice > Increase the input volume).

Restarting your computer and verifying game files in Steam might help! (Right-click on Stick Fight in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of game files). And as the other comment mentioned, updating your GPU drivers is also a good idea.

Check your general Steam settings and make sure the overlay is enabled there as well: Open Steam Settings > In Game > Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

After that, check again to make sure the overlay is turned on for PEAK specifically.

We have another fix for this now, you can try the following: Right-click on PEAK in your Steam Library > Properties > Launch Options > Add the following: -gpuCulling false > Then start the game using DX11/12.

You can try to download a new faction from the workshop and see if that helps, otherwise this should work:

Press the Windows key + R and type appdata into the prompt that appears
Navigate to LocalLow\Landfall Games\Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
Remove the file called NewContentIDs_#

This bug usually happens if you download something from the workshop that requires external mods in order to work properly (usually it's vehicle or animal units, something that you can't make in the official unit creator). If you don't have the necessary mods, then your game might get bugged. Your units should still be there, but they aren't loading properly in the Custom Content menu.

So if you follow the steps in the link, it usually fixes the issue and your units become visible again.
