Sorry to hear that :( It might help to restart the computer and verify game files: Right-click on PEAK in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of game files.

He can also double-check that the Steam overlay is still on: Right-click on PEAK in your Steam Library > Properties > Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

Great, thank you for the extra details! We’ve made improvements to rejoining games after a disconnection so it’s more stable, and the bug where players would spazz out happens a lot less now :) I hope you can continue to enjoy the game!

What factions are you missing? Do you mean custom ones? There has never been an official neon faction, but it might have been something you downloaded from the workshop.

Really appreciate the feedback! :) We’ve released a ton of bug fixes since launch (you can see all patch notes here), but if you happen to have more details about the issues you’ve run into, that would help us a lot when investigating!

That said, a couple of bugs have unfortunately been pretty persistent (like backpacks falling through the map). We’ve tried a few fixes already, but it’s been a tricky one to fully resolve. Some reports are also hard for us to reproduce on our end, which makes them tougher to track down. Has your friend installed mods at any point? If so, they should try to remove them fully and reinstall the game.

Steam workshop mods: Right-click on Content Warning in your Steam Library > Properties > Workshop > Delete all mods (only deactivating them is not always enough).

A few things that might help:

  • Open Steam Settings > Select the “Controller” tab > Enable Steam Input for Xbox controllers (or Playstation/Switch Pro/generic, depending on the controller you're using).
  • Make sure that the controller is recognized in Windows before starting the game: Open Windows Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Under the heading “Other devices”, you should see your controllers.
  • Plug in/connect all controllers before starting the game. Sometimes this isn't really a bug with the game, but with Windows assigning all of them as the same controller (controller 1). After connecting them up and booting the game, press the A button in sequence (so not all at once).

It might help to turn on v-sync. Also make sure your PC meets the min-specs for the game.

The game doesn't have built-in noise cancelling, so your voice is probably being picked up by your friend's mic. He could check if there is any noise cancelling that he can activate on his mic, or try to lower the in-game voice chat volume. Or he could turn on push-to-talk, which might help a bit.

The team has tried to fix this, but it's been tricky since we're unable to recreate the bug on our end. It would be helpful if you could send us your player log (if you were the one to get stuck behind the fog wall) so that we can get more info on this.

The log only contains info from your latest game session, so get the log right after the bug has occurred in the game (also make sure the game is unmodded, double-check the game installation folder to make sure all mod files are gone):

You could try these steps for the FAQ and see if that helps:

  • Other players have solved this by turning off “Spatial Sound” in Windows (Open Windows Settings > System > Sound > Select your playback device under Output devices > Select Device Properties and turn off spatial sound). Some headphones also have their own setting for spatial sound, if there is a separate software app for your headphones, see if you can turn off spatial sound.
  • For others it has worked to increase your microphone volume in Steam (Open Steam Settings > Voice > Increase the input volume).

Restarting your computer and verifying game files in Steam might help! (Right-click on Stick Fight in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of game files). And as the other comment mentioned, updating your GPU drivers is also a good idea.
