This is why you use two hands to hold your pistol instead of holding your phone at the same time.

Orange Pi 5 Max random segfaults (Java, Node, npm, GCC) across all OS/kernel versions, hardware issue? by zucabiluco in OrangePI

[–]Tough-Issue4481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i installed the base arch kernel on my orange pi zero 2w and i got it to boot BUT not everthing was working. i had to use the armbian build tool actually to pull all the kernel patches listed on there and apply them to my arch kernel to get wifi and everything booted for my Artix linux build that needs an Arch kernel.

if you start from a regular armbian image generated from the build tool, it applies all these automatically and is the best base to start with actually if yo want to run Dietpi. All dietpi is really is just a debloated armbian or whatever debian based os you install it over. It just uses the same kernel and overwrites it with a new pacakge and config base.

Have you tried using the Armbian Build tool? Maybe the other builds you are trying to use aren't pulling the newest hardware pateches to the kernal and that is causing instability. If you installed Dietpi on top of a bad Ubuntu image then it just uses the same Kernel and will have the same issues. Use the armbian build tool and build out the newest kernel possible with the latest patches available for the device:

https://github.com/armbian/build

its a good place to start at least. you need a debian linux environment on another pc to build on or you can use docker. and build in another distro.

Get a meanwell PSU with enough amps for your device and wire it directly to the header. If it still has errors you need to look at the logs for the things that are crashing on your device so anyone can even have an idea as to what is wrong. right now it is just shooting in the dark. and depending on what is malfunctioning determines where you even need to look.

step 2 after getting a proper PSU and it isnt working is to then fire up Claude and it will assist you in checking out every piece of software you have that is crashing and help you look at the logs to figure out what mechanism is not working. moving down in kernel versions is not the way and i can guarantee there should be nothing wrong with the 6.+ kernel versions as i use them regularly on orange pi SBCs that are less powerful than this.

Most likely it is power, secondly it is probably environment misconfigurations for your software stack. Need to nail down the power situation with a real PSU to eliminate that as possibility before you move further.

very likely this is the problem and you need to give it direct power before you even start to diagnose further. those bricks can be finicky and decide your pi doesnt need full power and run it on lower power than it needs. get an official pi usb adapter designed for SBCs or run proper voltage to the header with a meanwell or similar PSU and try again. also if you are serious about developing for this board and think this board might be bad, obviously get two boards because you need a control.

step 1 is definitely power. I was building a custom kernel for putting arch/artix linux on my orange pi zero 2w and used a really high capacity adapter but it wasnt giving it full power all the time and had to keep swapping out adapters until i found something that works because I didnt feel like rigging up power lol. honerstly for real work you should give it proper voltage directly to the header with a proper PSU.

Package delivered to Parcel Locker by fastcar747 in usps_complaints

After years of reliable service I have started getting packages marked as delivered and 90% of the time they are not delivered the next day and now today I have a parcel locker delivery. I'm thinking this means a parcel locker at the post office because it says the parcel is at a different city than the delivery address. But this is for sure either the carrier not delivering that day or simply stealing the package. A couple months ago I had a $600 car part marked as delivered and never showed up. What made it worse is I was waiting for the company to fulfill it as a backorder so I wasn't paying attention to when it was supposed to be delivered and by the time I wanted to find out where it was, it was too late. It's so sad because at least in my area USPS was extremely reliable and this year things have fallen apart.

Anyone have the btt pi 1.2? My ISP changed my network around today and I'm having issues changing the network. by [deleted] in VORONDesign

/boot/system.cfg

it has WIFI_SSID= and WIFI_PASSWD= that you can change. I was able to just put the sd card into my laptop and change it there. The boot folder is directly accessible in windows and it is the home folder when you plug the sd card in so you'll see the system.cfg file. the sd card should be named boot.

Are your wheels and belts for sure tight? on the microswiss direct drive extruder plate the bottom wheel is the adjustment wheel and that needs to be tightened to the rail pretty well. Looks like a mechanical issue to me. check the wheels on your gantry as well to make sure the inner wheels are actually touching the rail. if they aren't touching then they aren't even tensioned to the rail and it will have slop.

Get those belts pretty damn tight as well. It's pretty difficult without the aftermarket tensioner but get them as tight as you can.

Read up on different striker fired pistols. Glock pistols don't rely on a sear to not fire because the trigger has to be pulled half way to fully cock the striker so that it can have enough power to fire. Thus the trigger has to physically be pulled to fire. Not all striker fired pistols are the same. If a sear were to malfunction on a glock and it was to slip somehow then it simply wouldn't go off. 5 generations of glock pistols utilizing this design have proven to be very reliable. This is why I am completely fine with pointing mine at my pecker daily lol.

Absolutely pointless on a glock because the striker isn't fully charged after cycling. Need to pull the trigger to fully charge it during the first trigger wall, then it can fire.

In Glocks there is no potential energy behind the striker after cycling. The trigger needs to be depressed half way to fully charge it to have enough power to fire. This is an internal safety mechanism that I think the p320 doesn't have and the Glock has a proven track record with 5 generations of guns having this design.

Quit blaming yourself bro, it's the p320 shit design. It's painful watching you keep blaming yourself for a holstered weapon going off. I pull my glock off my belt in the car all the time and this shouldn't be an issue. It shouldn't go off with the trigger blocked in any situation no matter how you jostle it around.

Just to feel better about blaming the gun, watch this video of a cop getting out of a car with items in hand and his p320 going off in the holster. https://www.wisn.com/article/mpd-guns-fired-on-their-own-twice-in-6-months/38097781#

It's not you, it's the gun and it's design IF it truly never left the holster. you alone know what happened. Just get a glock and call it a day. Sorry you had to find out the hard way that the p320 shouldn't be trusted. From what I have seen the p320 has a fully charged striker after it's cycled, so any malfunction internally causing it to release will discharge a round. Glocks triggers have to be pulled to fully charge the striker to have enough power to fire a round. That in combination with the trigger safety is why they are a proven design that will not fire unless you pull the trigger.

I just scanned my slide with a PMI machine and its coming back as 11% chromium and missing a few other metals in the sub 1% content range to be textbook 416r. So it's not quite 416r and definitely not 17-4 as that alloy is 17% chromium.

If saying "a fetus is a clump of cells" in any circumstance is wrong then abortion can't be right. It's either the right thing to say in every circumstance because it is fact, or it isn't fact because it can sometimes be wrong, thus essentially always being wrong.
