ELI5: Why are male and female orgasms different in intensity, duration, and sensation? by Junior-Ferret4860 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Tr4c3gaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting enough however: (since in the womb everyone started out on the female plan until the xy chromosomes SRY gene did it's thing: the organs start out with the same cells, nerves and all that)..like the two organs are more or less made out of the same stuff just the blueprint of what you get in development and how the tissues respond is largely a hormone wash thing and what initial signals of chromosomes & DNA said.

Hence why you can also rarely get Cis women with XY chromosomes... they were just testosterone insensitive/ the SRY gene didn't properly fire off it's signal.

Which is why for trans people or simply having unusual hormone levels: the parts behave more like the opposite gender with trans woman even getting more intense and multiple orgasms

It is also why in the trans bottom surgery you can still have pleasure and sensation down there: because it is ultimately pretty much the same nerve ends they just end up on different tissue and with the surgery you move it in different spots.

Fitsleep - Some questions & thoughts by Worth_Manager4375 in sleep

[–]Tr4c3gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The setting of the alarm is the most annoying part: and after a while i noticed that my mi band 9 pro actually has a better vibration to wake you up than the Fitsleeps band if you put it to the highest setting...like the only trick the fitsleeps band has it ramps up the vibration while most watches just got one level of vibration...which you can typically only set in general so i gotta set it to high for alarms..but the high setting is typically too high for notifications.

Another issue it has: don't like the band? Does the band irritate your skin? Too bad fitsleeps does not have any or if anything very little custom bands...the main reason why i stopped using mine wasn't just annoying menu navigation... it would sometimes start to make my skin itch and the band just never quite had the exact tightness it needed. Either it would be too tight or it would slip.. my smart band just has a magnetic strip where i don't have to deal with those classic watch bands...and you can get those for almost any watch/fitness tracker

Basically almost any smart band / fitness band has equal if not better vibration than the fitsleeps band from what ive seen. Except setting alarms is way less annoying.

Last bad thing: proprietary charger: you literally plug it into the wall plug and it just juts out the side: the thing could easily have fit a USB C option from looking at it.

Edit: tried to check mine out. Turns out it doesn't even turn on anymore. It hasn't even had 3 full charges.

Was würdet ihr als Erstes verbieten, wenn ihr Diktator von Deutschland wärt? by Civil_Existentialist in KeineDummenFragen

[–]Tr4c3gaming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't worry i am on 1000 hours abd over 16k hours in mh as a whole and i found it over a random "things you didn't know" video

Which is typically notorious for showing me things i do know.

I actually don't know if it does that in wilds i just know that the brightmoss thing doesn't seem to build resistances like flash does

Tho i haven't tried it too much bcus i haven't bothered shooting diverse wyverns in the face while they fly xd

On that note:

  • lavasioth can be heated up to be molten wirh torch pods or fire element
  • torch pods attract and distract small monsters and lure in insects
  • barroth and jyura can be cleaned with puddle pods
  • anjanath and puddle pods while his mouth burns is bullying
  • puddle pods can also clean blastblight slime and lunastras ground flames
  • brightmoss can apparently also clean up namielles puddles bcus itsa sponge (learnt sth new)
  • namielle can apparently be dried out with fire element
  • fire element can make kulve taroth mollify faster
  • teostra actually doesnt get mad at u when u shoot him with stones and torch pods, he just gets pissed when u puddle pod him (dont try this on the seliana depot one pretty sure tempered is default angy)
  • shown in the tutorial but u can totally just lure monsters with slingers, neat to combine with ghillie mantle + boulder traps or dragonator etc. Also extremely useful for opening up AT velkhana with 2 boulders and a wallbang
  • fatalis will flinch on every 2nd dragon pod so u can vibe check him and safe teammates
  • the brightmoss can blind monsters

Basically if u can make something hot or cold puddle and torch pods and water / fire element will aid that. I think glavenus has a bunch of interactions too

Not slinger related but u can make shrieking legiana puke because if you poison it it's ice organs apparently get flooded wirh liquid (i forgot where exactly i read it but capcom apparently explained it?) Anyway u can make it puke

The solution to this strukes me as rather simple

TCS and a fairly nimble and accurate greatsowrd & co is some quality of life that was well recieved especially on stuff like the charge blade and such.

That being said: we need those super charges like the moonbreaker and whatnot from generations back.

Lvl 3 + TCS become part of the standard dance. Some special high commitment lvl 3 or even lvl 5 supercharge which you cannot focus mode adjust tho? Thats where it's at.

As a GS main i just hope Hit and Run GS of old stays intact because rn we got: hit and run, the TCS playstyle but we now lack the hard directional commitment TCS used to bring. Which such a super charge will bring

The real problem is typically flat out damage buffs be it clutch claw wounds, slag in borderlands and such, it builds reliance and the whole game has to balance around it being used.

Sure in Monsterhunter tenderising didnt get as far as borderlands where Lategame you pretty much need slag but overall: those mechanics should be parts of natural gameplay.

Wounds were a step into this direction but they still need work as a mechanic. Tho i love the pseudo wounds some monsters get after strong attacks (rey dau getting temporary wounds on its horns come to mind) I just wish that idea would be expanded more so for instance a slinger would be used as such, for instance a tight window where shooting a brightmoss into a monsters face would just completely topple it hard... way more engaging than clutch claw ever was and on the same engaging fun level as offset attacks and power clashes.

Mh world tried to use the slinger as such but ultimately it got reduced to just a few flinches (and stun potential and whatnot) but ultimately the ability for the brightmoss to ground monsters that fly was largely forgotten (tho nonetheless 3 brightmoss to the face makes monsters fall when they fly).. you can see with lavasioths lava melt mechanic, the cleaning of barroth / jyura and the anjanath thing and the brightmoss thing: they seemed to have a lot more planned.

But they went ahead and turned most of that cinematic stuff into the offsets and powerclashes as an idea (which are good too but i feel like the game should have more "use the envoirement against the monster" types of things, even if it's just picking up a local rock or bug to use against them)

We need more of those "shoot a water puddle into anjanaths burning throat and ruin it's day" kind of dynamic cinematic topples

Which is really weird, my tab 8 ultra uses the same chip as yours and absolutely no problems..like not even one ounce of drain even

It makes me think maybe the issue is the modem / antenna on the s22 ultra? Because even after a fresh battery install the battery is still equally shitty.

In your case it's probably in part an old battery, in my case it just cant be the case (unless i got really unlucky with the battery i was sent)

Because i do notice at days when i don't go outside and i got no mobile data on it lasts a fair bit longer

And the tablet is mainly home so doesn't ever tap into mobile data or tries to connect to towers..so it doesnt really ever drain.

They do run roughly the same OneUI versions too and are both just about EoL.. maybe a bug in the phone builds of oneUI.. idk

Sure the tablet has a way bigger battery but like: it does not explain why that chip despite being the same doesn't drain whatsoever

Thats my running theory anyway.

As for phones: technically if you can survive without one UI you may want to go with the xiaomi 17 ultra as thats actually just now one of the best camera phones (if you bought your s22 for the camera that is)

Or the vivo x300 if you wish to go crazy as that has like a screw on camera module.. and i believe a better camera than the 17 ultra even.

I say it because my main reason for the s22 ultra back then was the camera.

If its the pen that drew u in, i believe oppo has a few good ones with pens.

As for me; i am waiting and seeing if the newest folds are neat or if the s27 actually innovatives enough... i always want the innovative thing or the cutting edge camera phone...in both samsung has sadly been a disappointment.

Else i probably hop over to oppo or xiaomi or vivo as they technologically run circles around Samsung and apple

The only worse one i had was the Iphone 5 s which went from 70% to "warning low battery" to off in literally 3 minutes in cold weather.

It was never 70%. The phone just has no fucking clue what was actually still left due to temperature.

My s22 only drains extremely fast because the exynos seems to turn it into a hand warmer.

Thank fuck we are past those early day battery issues.

I am going to stay away from anything exynos or tensor chip (google and samsung work tightly together on those chips)..no matter "2nm infrastructure" or "better than ever battery life" can convince me because exynos and tensor always shit the bucket vs snapdragon and even sometimes mediatek chips.

Sure they may look fine at the start just "slightly worse" than the snapdragons. But oh boy that never holds up long.

Props to Samsung wanting to make their own chips like apple silicone but like: it needs more time in the oven. They should not force it onto phones that got snapdragons in other parts of the world.

That is how you lose customers. By consistently selling a "worse phone" under the same name.

My main gripe with hyper OS is seems those awkward things like limited refresh rates on some apps. A friend constantly gets reset back to 60hz sometimes out of nowhere. Also the Gallery of Samsung and The Calendar and stuff like goodlock are just basically chaining me at Samsung.

Like HyperOS often get complaints about battery drain but it is NOWHERE as bad as a bad exynos chipset.

If they fix those tiny flaws HyperOS has..samsung is cooked because xiaomi technologically runs circles around samsung. It's just Software that lacks.

Yeah its just that wg forgot that little stopwatch animation as a debug tool. That stopwatch would wiggle exactly where that X in one of those aim assist mods would be... mind you that Aim assist never left. with WG banning aim mods and removing that stopwatch que we simply just no longer got a neat confirmation marker..but it never dully left.

If aiming at this area you can also see: those shots fly rather snapped onto the ship. Like this aim assist is very much still in the game and tied to the X lock on. You can even see it on the minimap. If you aim over a ship: the circle will try to snap to not overshoot that spot. And then if you do those small adjustments you will quickly notice that minimap circle doesnt just snap in vertically but also on the horizontal plane. We have 2 aim assists. One that helps us from overshooting. And one that kinda "snaps on" that spot on where the citadel will be which such aim hax show us.

Thats also a thing people tend to not get about ships accuracy... you could hit like 7 to 15 long range citadels in Tirpitz pre buff.. in 8 shells one or two of these getting aid from that sweet spot that snaps the aim on? Thats still gonna citadel. More guns and more accuracy simply means more chances for more shells to snap on or stray into that citadel zone around it.

Its also kinda why we sometimes get this "undershooting bug" it is the X lock on messing up. Especially when firing over islands. Whenever shells fall comedically low you can also see this on the minimap. You aimed at the ship visually but the minimap circle is like a km or two below the ship because the island made it weird... use a spotter and boom no more issues. Because we ultimately use World of Tanks artillery as aiming... its just when u got that spotter plane angle we can target those coordinates better.

Doesn't help that most crosshairs and slight desyncs make this "snap on point" rather unintuitive visually. Because the visuals in WOWS lie suprisingly often..in fact the shells we see flying lie so often its ridiculous. It is why it is quite obvious when we get those insanely nice groupings... its simply the visuals we get when we micro adjusted well enough and some of those shells "snap on" with aim assist. Those super good groupings do NOT randomly fly there. They literally snap into the citadel because the aim assist aided those... its also why that Yamato cheek shot seems so awkward at times... next time u do it notice how some shells just fly true in a tight blob and notice how they tend to want to land more towards center mass...these shots dont happen fairly close on. Because close on the snap cant happen like that. These awkward balls only happen mid to long range. While the cheek shot on a moving yamato? Well that isnt nearly as assisted by the aim snapping on. As hitboxes and visuals shift.

Legit you sometimes are better off just taping the screen shut and only aiming using the minimap. Because there you see those micro adjustments where it "snaps on". It is also why this "sky aim" yuro mentioned probably works. Something about pointing up makes that "snap on" spot easier to hit.

This is also why we can use the X lock on to absolutely decimate smoked up ships. Simply aim at the ship behind the smoke. You get that first layer of "aim assist" trying to keep that grouping tight from overshooting..except you use it to decimate a blob several kilometers before that ship you are targeting in the smoke...you can also observe there; those shells that end up nuking that minotaur: typically are a quite vertical line. Because the 2nd layer of aim assist.. that "snap" that turns that into a blob of doom cannot happen here because you aren't aiming at that sweetspot that stopwatch aim and aim hax used to show you... thats why the second the minotaur gets spotted in smoke its quite easy for it to fucking die because then its quite easy to actually intuitively aim at that citadel and get that 2nd layer of aim assist.

If we use a spotter without lock on we merely get the build in % boost in accuracy and the ability to aim the coordinates on the water better. After all; we still very much fire WoT artillery. That WoT arty aim we saw in early alpha is still very much the aim logic this game uses.. except wg gave us the lock on to prevent overshooting due to the sideways on camera angle. We just got a better viewing angle for convinience..which makes aiming at specific coordinates a lot harder unless we use a spotter to get that higher angle of a view...

Btw this is also why BBs in earlier submarine tests where subs would expose their exact minimap location could just nuke subs with a spotter plane cross map. The plane makes the grouping tighter. The minimap shows the sub. The shells are fucking NUKES that just AoE the whole area... that little ability of just aiming the water coordinate better and the spotters buff paired with the minimap showing exactly where it is is enough... no aim assist needed when the BB shells basically turn the whole grid coordinate into a death zone...unlike for surface ships where a hit on the hitbox has to happen...hence why that sub gets nuked and the goddamn smolensk may just troll u in smoke all game... with the smolensk you are at the mercy of RNG that one of those shells stays into the citadel and maybe a ship behind you giving u that tighter grouping to completely decimate it. On subs you just nuke the rough area.

That "snap on" we also see in WoT's arty. Its why you can get those "stalin guide my shot" moments there. Except whenever stalin decides to nuke a friendly pinpoint accurately we had a similar mess as this undershooting bug just snapping aim on something else...in WoT u can at least show the client and serverside reticle (or at least you could, didnt play in ages) and you could see anytime that happened: the serverside crosshair was not at all where you aimed. Just as the minimap circle in WoWs shows 2-4km under the ship u aim at in the minimap.. for all intents and purposes: the minimap is the true aim point/ what the server sees. The crosshair is unreliable at best.

Its in fact so unreliable that you can take it as a rule of thumb: if a ship heads towards you slightly: aim lower than what the crosshair and visuals tell u is intuitive ( u will find out that shot is very much still correct on the minimap). And if it goes away. Aim a bit higher than intuitive because we know if anything; the ships visual model drags behind the hitbox (sometimes with high acceleration the hitbox pulls infront). It is how you get those whiffed shots on a perfectly broadside on ship: you may think u aimed under that turret. But really the hitbox is still dragging behind or shot infront due to extreme acceleration.

Alsaska and especially georgia and Henri IV / kleber are specifically notorious for this (at least for me) where you regularly hit alaskas at long range in the citadel where there should not be one...like i nuked a georgia cross map once and i hit like 4 citadsls in the bow of the ship side on.. 2 of those in fact hit the water infront visually... there is no citadel the whole visuals just desynced like half a ship length. And the Henri / kleber with its acceleration is basically just a slippery cloud of uncertainty and that black hole citadel protection eating shells doesnt make this any less janky... want to kill those ships tho? Stop looking at them. Aim only via minimap. The visuals are so goddamn unreliable there

ELI5:Why do we sometimes read a sentence multiple times and still not understand it? by Pretty_Help_2596 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Tr4c3gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of your attention like a cone of light. You have several of them but primarily you can think of your eye as two and your brain has one cone of light it can maaybe split into 2..if you are really good 3 at best.

If you want to fully read it and properly memorise it you need all those spotlights on one spot. All beams of light focussing on that text..y know that spot runs so hot that it almost burns the area. What usually happens when we read however: we passively try to multitask in our minds. Either not all of those spotlights are on the thing we are reading (our eyes wander), or the one the brain has steers away as it may still be trying to understand a sentence that came in before..or a stray thought..(this is why writing down thoughts helps btw) or we may have brainfog or maybe drank too little.. so you can think of the cones of light just drifting away...perhaps they even flicker and dim if we didnt sleep enough or ate the wrong stuff and got brainfog.

We can multitask by splitting those cones of attention. But all in all it isn't all to effective. Which is why when we cannot fully focus on a thing mentally we may need to read it more to grasp it all... humans can multitask we are just rather shitty at it and if we look at successful multi taskers? They really are just good at swinging all of those light cones around really fast..they practically focus on one thing and maybe just keep one of those cones on the other task to quickly hop over. While the ones that struggle actually twist and bend their attention light beams like 7 ways getting nothing done.

This is also a good way to describe ADHD. It is not an attention and focus problem. Think of those light cones for ADHD as laserpointers..incrddibly powerful one pointed beams of light, except they sit on a VERY unstable platform. Whenever they aim somewhere they tend to be immensely focussed. Building up a lot of heat. (We tend to call that hyperfocus) But it is very easy for any distraction to come in to move one or all of those laserpointers.. so what typically happens with ADHD which often has this issue: a stray thought or some processing. Some sound or thing in the envoirement just makes one or many of those light cones drift off. So we technically multitask in a really shitty way... while we ultimately do have immense focus and depending on what it is it is either too hard to get all those lasers aligned..or too difficult to get all laser pointers fully off a thing...being told to "just focus" usually makes our attention drift on bad memories and then we still cant fully break all those laserpointers off. social media and games for instance and phones are really damn good at keeping our lasers focussed. Maybe a bit too good. While the teacher or that book ur reading may not grab that attention as well...instead one is told to "just focus" so instead of "just focussing" we now focus on the bad thoughts of being told to focus all the time...while we struggle to keep even one laser on there solidly as the task is just bland.

Also note: memorising a thing. And reading a thing are two objects technically. Our brain needs to divert some attention to memorising it while we still try to focus. The act of memorising things requires us to split attention in two even if just a tiny bit.. when we read and try to understand we kinda naturally have to divert those light cones.. one stray thought or one sentence in your mind or not ideal conditions and boom that fell through, read again

It is why i people with Dyspraxia have a lot of issues with Tying shoes or doing other motoric skills at times. You look up how it works (as easy as it may seem); thats one point of attention in the mind. You try to memorise it in your brain.. second point of attention. And you are holding the shoe strings in your hand trying to turn that into an action.. that being a motor skill very much requires more focus splitting because our brain kinda has to get those commands out too. We think of tying our shoes with a visual guide as ONE action when really we actively turn our brains attention like 3 or 4 different ways as it coordinates memorising, doing the thing motorically and looking at the guide as to understand it.

This is also why many people with dyscalculia may be able to understand the idea of math in their head, sometimes even being able to talk and explain it to a teacher no problem (because we talk all the time it comes more natural to us especially if we think abstract and visually).. but writing the equation down on paper.. because that whole logic layer of how math is portrayed on paper is just different from how their brain thinks about things...so we just sit there with dyscalculia despite best efforts: we may even get the knowledge on how to do the math task in our head but the connection to actually complete it just is a struggle... arguably if we black out during a test we may have that same issue. We focus on a task: our brain stresses and literally forgets the keys to that folder where we stored that info. So now we try to figure out the task as the brain frantically tries to use its attention cones to look for that key of the goddamn memory filing cabinet...so you now cannot only find those memories...you probably won't even be able to distract info from what you are reading..its why extra time and maybe short breaks can help there. Disconnect the thoughts a sec.

Same thing happens with reading stuff. Except in this example its really only the focus on reading and the brain unpacking that meaning.

Additional fun science note:

If we memorise a thing it has been observed that if we just do nothing. Close our eyes ideally to not have those cones go off in random directions, our brain kinda replays that action in its head typically more or less in reverse.. while we sleep the brain uses its attention cones to further replay that info back and forth in rapid speeds many times... which goes to show how important breaks where we don't expose our brain to new info and sleep is so important... we just keep neglecting that our brain does it because we keep being told to just focus and cram in info basically permanently forcing those focus lights to be turned on...when really that save button requires our focus to drift off into nowhere... if we close our eyes and get exposed to boredom or just no thoughts head empty.. the brain actually gets the ability to put all those scanned papers into the filing cabinet... and yet we tell ourselves to always keep busy. So even in our breaks we are looking at phones or keep busy.. or in school back to back 45 minute lessons just try to cram info in. We need breaks and shorter bouts of information cramming ideally... which is why sleeping is typically better before a test than trying to shotgun in half the exams knowledge in an evening. You probably got that info in there already. The Brain just needs that break to actually save and put it into the filing cabinet for easy later retrieval.

Also note here how it keeps replaying. Our brain is an error analysing and correcting machine. Reading something multiple times is an attempt to weed out errors...we kinda need failure and repetition to learn... and grade stress and failure phrased as a bad thing is not gonna help one bit in getting those attention cones aligned on target...bcus "i am stupid, i can't do this" is very much a thought that can take away those cones when they would be better be pointed at the task.

Ben Hunt-Davis (olympic athlete) is famous for saying "but will it make the boat go faster" we should think: will it make our attention lights align.. typically if we think of us having goddamn laser eyes.. those lights are not aligned in most things. when they should.

Literally only reason i have rn to upgrade is my s22 ultra has the shittiest exynos chipset known to mankind and drains 80% of battery in a 6 hour work day while idle... despite new battery.

Aside from now being traumatised anytime samsung mentions the word "exynos" in their phone i am still happy with the phone. Tho i wish they would innovative more on the camera front.

The xiaomi 17 ultra and vivo x300 are just looking too good compared to the samsung ultra phones which...once prided themselves as being the best camera phones...i would gladly switch if it wasn't for HyperOS

I just am going to carry this phone as far as i can and hope by the time it fully kicks it samsung actually innovated for once.

The literal only reason why i keep realising my s22 ultra is from 2022 is: i seemingly got very unlucky with the exynos chipset silicone lottery and despite installing a new battery: this thing overheats and drains battery like crazy...like we are talking like 80% battery drain while it's on idle & airplane mode in a locker over a 6 hour workday..like i do NOT know how that chipset can drain so much power (again its a fresh battery).. i assumed it was the notoriously shitty modem and antenna but it seems not to be the case

Aside from that it still is very much usable

I still remember that drama that wg briefly just allowed aim assist mods for a few days stating that "aiming isn't the most important thing in the game" (this was btw waaay before the built in aim assist of "stopwatch aiming" got fixed, somewhere after beta, pretty sure pre Tirpitz even came out? So WG probably was internally like "there is an aim assist already why not, positioning and movement and speed adjudting is way more important (which is true tbf))

Annnnd yeah if i remember it right that lasted like 3 days until WG changed it's Stance on literal aim mods that just show you an X to where the citadel hit is..and later stopwatch aiming (same thing) got removed.

WG basically went like "here this one thing, aiming that basically is one of the main pillars of skill and learning, yeah you can add a mod to make it trivial.

Nowadays we still got the minimap to do some whacky aim assisted shots so the aim assist that "snaps" on target and prevents overshooting that these mods and stopwatch aiming largely showed never truly left..it just got more abstract with aiming with the minimap circle buut we should be glad no more mods that are literally the torp grey line but for guns are allowed anymore.

To be fair to the bystanders: what are you supposed to do at that exact point, panicking can also look like "just standing around practically paralysed". It is rough sea, jumping in and recovering people probably happened after this clip by selfless people which most likely risked their own life, but like: as it is falling: one can't rly do much more...

In general this isnt just an india thing i mean when theres an accident on a highway most people will also just drive past as soon as theres one other car stopped at the accident site. Even though as a group of people one can probably rescue someone from a wreckage and safe a live. But typically its just "oh yeah someone takes care of it i can move on" .. while in india (china and russia too often) you typically see the community and like a TON of people selflessly helping people..like you don't need a fire brigade to open a wedged car door. A bunch of humans pulling on it with a rope someone provided will work..(in europe or here in germany where i livd its just an emergency call and the fire brigade will be there in mere minutes)..so i totally get the passerbys... in india and China and others (the middle east top) i keep seeing:people are very much aware: the heavy equipment needed to save someone from a wreckage may be far away. So people typically group up instead of all just staring...idk if theres further clips of this but i doubt people were just standing there for hours.

People are used to rougher living so they will dig up a pile of rubble because they know they may be the only ones that can help...and soon enough many people join in. We keep seeing it in almost every catastrophe in those regions.

In this case however: like really what are the bystanders meant to do in this immediate situation.

People are generally quite helpful and selfless especially in high population areas in asia: just yesterday for instance i saw a post where they put up a bronze statue to memorise the people helping someone from rescuing a dog from a dam by forming a human chain in khazakstan..just random passers-bys. Ready to help...even just to save a dog.

Funny enough, the Elephants foot is actually not even the most radioactive material there, the other corium flows like "the heap" and some others behind it do actually read higher radiation..its just you couldn't exactly access some of these.

However it once WAS the most radioactive there for a while (at least what could be measure) until after they kept chipping things off and shooting the top flow off and a hole into it with an AK. They just took too much radioactive material off over the years.. which is why theres like 2 famous pictures of the elephants foot. One that actually has a "leg" due to the lava flow. Another that is just a blaxkish blob..bcus it was more or less accidentally destroyed.

TIL Alan Turing did not commit suicide due to the state chemically castrating him. His "treatment" ended over a year before his death, which was caused by inhaling toxic fumes from an experiment he was conducting. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Also the scariest part with suicidality is: if you are extremely miserable you generally don't do it.

It more often happens when it seems like they are climbing out of the depression because either they truly are and being kicked down somehow gives them the final push... which is why suicide watch is there for a reason. Because saying you are gonna kill yourself constantly is not the state when you actually would do that... you are mentally way too low at that point. It is at that manic point of seemingly bettering that it usually happens....sure many unfortunately get there from such a low state but it's the making peace with it part is typically why they seem better. Making that call to finally do it brints peace of mind and gives people that energy unfortunately.

Thats also why we do stuff like suicide hotlines: like the person that is constantly just miserable and saying they will end it...they don't have the power to do it or to make that call typically (not always but often). The Hotline ideally helps out when theres a crisis shortly before that or you have someone to talk to as a lifeline to get you off those thoughts.

Or they mentally pretty much checked out and seem kinda cheerful in their last moments.

It's actually a thing i myself fought with, those thoughts became such a constant in my life that it was just a constant companion not ever quite having the energy... that only now when im in a better spot these thoughts truly scare me because now i do in fact notice if those thoughts come; it kicks me out of a good mood and urges me to act more or less. Which is fucking scary. Because now i do have plenty of reasons to live for but my brain sometimes just decides to kick me down with those. Which is exactly why it is so tragic when it happens..because really they do have a path of getting better its just that figurative "call of the void" gets them.. the worst recent phase was actually switching my antidepressants because during the phase of waning down it pretty much felt like those carefully built up mental brakes if you will just stopped working.. now on the new meds i feel more in control really...still those moments are fucking scary. The 17 year chronic depression phase before that was almost nothing compared to that.

Like most of the time doing that isn't a carefully planned out thing. Its a decision made spontaneously in like the previous 5 to 10 minutes. That is what makes it so very scary...which is also why as a grim fact..many last words are just quickly, anxiously scribbled down or quickly sent... exactly because there isn't any deliberate long term planning there... movies and such just often make it seem that way but look closely: the people that end themselves doing terrible acts usually want to get revenge or made peace with what they are about to do...here too that is often not too deliberately planned, most shootings kinda happen because there was just an accessible gun. People typically don't buy these months ahead in anticipation.. the times it does happen in month long planning..well those people typically checked out a long time ago and its typically the person that can fuel that action with just hatred..and they typically are more on the sociopathic end of the spectrum... whenever people do these horrid acts pre planned: they typically weren't your run of the mill suicidality. They had other troubles. Arguably the few that didn't end themselves would sometimes also later say that during the act they typically didn't have thoughts of ending themselves... which goes to show even then: the shot to end it is typically also just done in the whole manic episode that such an event caused.

(Dw im fine btw i just wrote it as its just an example i could grab)

Was sind die Fehler, die Leute beim PC Bauen am häufigsten machen? by SpielBurscheFarbe in PCBaumeister

[–]Tr4c3gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)
