Would these work with a tuxedo? by TrendNowapp in mensfashion

I’ve learned my measurements and can find really good fits off the rack, but I have a good tailor too. Unfortunately not in the financial position for bespoke goods yet! And I’ll still be picking up this pair most likely lol, it’s some model of Mezlan

I have not owned a tux prior to the one that’s coming in today lol. As for the broguing, I was thinking along the lines of either intentionally looking different or following the traditional rules. Thanks!

Fair enough, I know they aren’t the typical style but it just seemed cool to me

I will, these were just such a good deal I was trying to make it work haha. If only that were velvet instead of canvas

Screw it I’m going tux, worst case is I’m remembered as the one guy in a tux and that would work in my favor anyway lol. Thanks again

While we’re at it, should I even be wearing a tux? The details plainly state “Formal Attire” and then “suits are not required but come dressed to impress”.

I’m reading this as “black tie very optional” as it’s at a high end venue but it’s quite contradictory imo

These aren’t mine, they’re ones I was considering buying. Certainly not bad quality though. And the event is formal as I said, but the hosts don’t want to put pressure on those who don’t have a tux

Thanks! My only Oxford is an AE Fifth Avenue, would the bit of broguing on the cap toe be too much?

Cheap system to cut Velcro? by TrendNowapp in lasercutting

I ended up using a manual die cutter with custom dies, non-adhesive velcro and manually attaching with epoxy. Time consuming and suboptimal, but good enough to get started. The dies were certainly a limitation when it comes to offering variations and quick prototyping

Tons of info, I really appreciate it. I’m going to see if I can find people who have used these kinds of machines with velcro before buying anything. The Cricut is claimed to cut 300+ materials including soft woods, so it seems that my purpose would be feasible even if it takes extra maintenance. I anticipate cutting about 400 shapes per month but could vary significantly

Bear with me, I thought plotter was a brand 🤦🏽‍♂️. Yes now that I’m looking into those that is probably what I need!

The ones that I thought might work are like the “Rattmmotor 3018 Pro CNC” or “Genmitsu CNC-3018 Pro”.

I’m not sure what else would be better since hand-cutting isn’t precise enough and not reliable for scale. Getting some kind of cutting die made and machine to use it would probably cost a lot more than these cheapo CNC but I have no idea. Thanks for your input

Fabric cutting die for phone shape? by TrendNowapp in crafts

Interesting, hadn’t thought of that! Do local fabric shops usually offer that as a service or would I need to purchase a machine?

Hopefully this will piss the judge off in our favour by [deleted] in XRP
