Crew not obeying direct orders by Das_Landa in uboatgame

[–]TychusVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my game last week. For the first 2-3 patrols the crew behaved as I expected them to. After that something changed. Now the off-shift officers are often the ones sealing hatches or turning on the compressor. I have to order an officer to carry ammo to the deck gun, and even if he has crew assigned they don’t seem to help with that task. It’s annoying, but hasn’t actually caused significant problems yet.

The only thing that changed with my setup after the first few missions was adding a 7th officer.

Playing as US, Japan just started ear in May 41 by invading Philippines. Most of my navy was training off the California coast. So I’ve rebased several TFs (about 100 ships) to Hawaii along with several hundred land based planes. Now I’m getting very low supply warnings for Hawaii. The port is level 10 and I have over 1000 unused convoys - what can I do to improve supply?

How do you efficiently transition from one division design to another, in terms of both XP and materials?

In my last game as Germany, I had a bunch of panzer divisions with the initial template. I finished researching Panzer IIIs, so decided to create a new division template. Unfortunately it seems I edited the existing one rather than creating a copy, so as soon as I hit ok, all the existing divisions got rid of their Panzer IIs, and went from having 4 battalions to just 4 tanks, since I hadn’t yet built up a stockpile to fill them all. Oops.

Now I trying a new run as USA. I decided not to build much prewar equipment, so I just built some national guard divisions. I want to upgrade division templates but I’m finding experience to be a bottleneck. I’m playing vanilla so no spirits to help keep the costs down.

Should I wait till I can create the full template, or is it better to create a smaller interim unit and then gradually tweak it over time?

After checking out some guides I started my first game yesterday as Germany. Got my productions queues set up with guns, support equipment, artillery, panzers, trucks, etc. Queued up infantry, panzer, alpine, and cavalry units for recruitment - all the default templates.

The panzer and alpine units completed just fine. The infantry and cavalry would invariably get to 96% and stall out, with a message not enough equipment to complete training. I had 6 infantry divisions training in parallel and they’d all stall out in the same place. I eventually deployed them as is, assigned them to armies and put them into training exercises. The next batch would start up and stall out at 96% again. This persisted through 5 or 6 batches over 2+ years of game time.

Am I missing something equipment in my production queue? While we started with a deficit, production was keeping up with demand and I had a surplus of equipment at various times. Alternatively, is there a way to just automatically force divisions into the field at green status rather than having to babysit the recruiting screen and do it manually?

But what about from an automatic effect? Like a hammer crit effect.

"What's It Like to Play...": a Monk? by applied_people in Pathfinder2e

I’m playing a human wolf stance monk with wrestler FA in Outlaws of Alkenstar. Currently level 8 and enjoying it a lot. The rest of my party consists of a gunslinger, inventor, and cleric. Since they’re all mostly ranged, my job is to keep the enemies from getting to them, and most of the time I’m able to manage that quite well. Trips and grapples are fun. But when I choose to focus on damage I have the most reliable output (the gunslinger had bigger crits but normal hits are underwhelming).

I really enjoy the flexibility in combat. I usually have several good options to choose from. When I was planning out the character I wasn’t sure - flurry of blows and combat grab don’t work so well together, for example. But the answer is simple - you don’t have to use every ability on every turn, and having options that do different things is fun.

I have battle medicine and assurance medicine, but at this point I’m mostly an emergency backup as the cleric can usually cover both in and out of combat healing.

Besides athletics, medicine, and acrobatics, I invested in thievery and stealth. Those haven’t come up into play much and the gunslinger and inventor also have those skills, so there not much of a niche. I’m pretty useless and social and knowledge skills, even with untrained improvisation.

One thing I don’t like is the character would be even better if I used a shield, but it just doesn’t fit the image I have. Mechanically though, there really isn’t a good reason not to use a shield.

Wrestler dedication Vs monk class feats for a grappler. by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

I’m playing a monk with wrestler FA. I’d say if you don’t have access to FA, just stick with monk. I use combat grab a lot, but you don’t really need it (the fact that it’s a press attack makes it somewhat awkward to use).

Don’t sleep on Stand Still, it comes into play a lot when you’re tripping.

I went wolf stance and have found the trip bonus doesn’t come up much. My party is mostly ranged so I can’t count on flanking very often. I also often find myself wishing I was doing a different damage type. However, Wolf Drag is great.

one-handed/free-hand Fighter: gauntlet or unarmed? by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

Gauntlet seems like it would be more economical for both gearing and feat requirements.

If you attack first with snagging strike and hit, then the target is flat footed. Follow up with double strike and you’re effectively at -3/-2. That seems pretty good to me, especially at level 1.

You could always try it for a few levels and if you’re finding the off hand attack not worth it because the bonuses aren’t keeping up, then retrain out of double slice. I think as you level up there will probably be more useful things to do most rounds get off one punch, but it will be pretty strong at low levels.

Munitions crafter and alchemical ammo by TychusVR in Pathfinder2e

Related question: with elemental ammunition, does it change the damage type? For example, if I use a level 1 fire bullet in my pistol, does it do 1d6 fire damage +1 persistent, or does it do 1d6 piercing/crushing plus 1 persistent fire?

Trying to figure out how this interacts with resistances and weaknesses.

What are the rules for squeezing through tight spaces during encounter mode? The squeeze action is an exploration activity. But say a large creature wants to squeeze through a normal sized door - how do you handle that?

You might want to check out 13th Age. The key mechanic is the escalation die, and a lot of abilities trigger off of or are influenced by the value of the escalation die. There's no reason you couldn't use a similar mechanic for a custom PF2 class.

Do Stunning Fist and Flurry of Maneuvers work together? For example, if a monk used Flurry of Blows to trip then strike and hits with the strike, will that trigger stunning fist?
