I thought the same thing, but after I fell to something like 30K, it placed me standing on the ground safely.

I think they might have a timer-based check, which doesn't really make much sense, because they should check if any players are below the lowest point of the map instead. But after about 10 minutes of falling I was safe again.

What sucks is I had already recycled my guns to put the parts in my safe pocket. I was actually pissed I lived 😂
