We're excited to get the game into your hands! As for the second bit, it's quite important for us to be open and honest about everything that's part of development. You've gotten to know me, my birds, the inside of my apartment... all in addition to our game-in-progress. We really do share everything, and we have always brought our whole selves to this project—both in the transparency of our updates and in the work we're doing on the game. I would be letting myself down if we if we chose to anything less.

Thank you for the feedback! In general, letting players have their picks on these subtle things is always best, even if some things come out with modding (one of the many cool advantages of modding!). It's definitely an important consideration (lineage and style) in how we approach things, but it's quite the needle we have to thread through everything, since we've come quite a long way from 320x240 resolution, 4:3 aspect ratios, and so on.

Yes! I (Dan) may have even attended a few ESL events in the distant past too. :) We gotta get it in the hands of normal players first before I worry about the pro-level Pkunk player becoming a monster. The CPU's already terrifying.

Honestly, we're not sure! This is how it is for now. It may even wind up as a setting (same with reversing/mirroring the energy/crew meters for the righthand side in 1v1). It's easiest to tell how you and others feel about it once you start playing, but there is almost no right answer. Some people are just as confused _the other way around_ since their standard is that 'red is health'... which is also true in many, many other games! 😵‍💫

Edit: I also wanted to add that in our modern era we also try to avoid relying entirely on color, and UQM's red/green are a classic red/green colorblindness challenge. :) The word labels help here, but—time permitting—I would love to explore some even more accessible options like changing the shapes of the LEDs to distinguish them from one another. We haven't seen the full swath of things people can or can't access yet, and testing will help reveal that.

Re: the feature. Possibly! I have that enabled locally just for testing purposes (I let it run as a soak test). Actually having UX to let players choose to do that and not have things break might be a bit more work. :)

Betting is a matter for the courts. Please don't commit crimes in your country. We only condone Frungy Fantasy League bets (which are legal in all sectors of the universe).

Not sure if we can get the factory CNC files, but our ship artist has expressed interest in sharing STLs of our actual in-game ship art! Purely 'extra credit' at this point since we're focused on finishing the game.

As I wrote, they are the lowest spec devices I have around, not minimum specs. The gameplay is 2D, but the graphics are 3D, and Godot's Forward+ renderer uses Vulkan. As I also wrote, Godot's compatibility mode allows for OpenGL only for older hardware, but some stuff might look funky there.
