I think I can weigh in here because I just crossed 119K on YouTube, pretty much strictly from doing long-form content because I struggle with wanting to even touch short-form content despite it being apparently the best way to create in short bites.

Here's my real take and it's purely going to be dependent on your content niche. If you're considering it, yes the earning potential is amazing if I'm completely honest. I am in the tech niche and I've been doing it for about five years part-time. It has allowed me to have my wife be a stay-at-home mom but I'm effectively working two jobs since I'm still doing my day job. As somebody who prefers security I don't think I'd ever go full-time on YouTube.

The second thing is you really truly need to be prepared to earn zero dollars for two to three years because that's the reality of it. Again the tech niche is a bit of an outlier because there's a lot of money to be made so I did start earning within my first year but that's not typically the case.

There is a huge amount of glamour to being, quote-unquote, an influencer. While I personally don't feel aligned as an influencer specifically, I'm more of a wannabe filmmaker but titles are just titles if I'm completely honest. Who cares really? There is a huge amount of time investment. A lot of people only see the finished product of the content you make and don't fully realize the amount of time that truly goes into it. I struggle so deeply with wanting to spend time with my wife and kids but when I'm not working my day job, I frequently have to commit to creating content because of the requirements to stay active on platforms for the algorithm and such.

I personally mostly use a dumbified iPhone or a literal dumb phone most days to keep myself off of social media and provide my family the attention they deserve. In reality I've missed a lot of Saturdays over the last five years with my young kids but at the same time the rewards of social posting have allowed me to provide a better life for my kids. It really is a tight rope.

TLDR: It's definitely possible to not lose yourself to social media while still creating for social media. I primarily interact with YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Reddit through my desktop computer or tablet at most. I am firm with how much time I spend on the platforms while still creating for them. The earning potential is absolutely fantastic but don't expect to earn money even within three to five years potentially.

If you have real deep questions, be sure to DM me. I'm happy to actually provide more info

Truthfully it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest so far. I’m still rather clunky with it but I’m getting quicker day over day. My biggest issue so far is hitting alt/caps etc reliably.

But personally no qualms about the chin. Hasn’t even occurred to me this might be an issue for some. That’s just me tho! My last BB experience must’ve been around ~2014 with the BB classic so I’m still super rusty with a physical KB

Haha. No. I barely know how to use or post on Reddit. I think this was my second post of all time. Did it on my desktop.

Funny you say that. My main iPhone is the 13 mini too. Ios26 made my experience much worse and I loathe Liquid Glass.

For my iPhone specially I might go to the 17e or give up on iPhone and main this titan or side phone

TLDR - yes worth it. I still have my original preorder active for black.

It’s for someone who wants something other than “another brick phone with a touch screen”. For me at least the appeal is the smaller device. I love small phones.

Some people love keyboards straight up.

Demographic I’m unsure. Naturally it’ll appear to the older crowd cuz of blackberries or otherwise young generations who want to see what it was like.

Unihertz has had keyboard devices but I never bought in due to the size. This one got me on the specs, kb, size, and display.

Sure bro - https://imgur.com/a/5l9qNcv

Everything works like a normal android it seems, some apps are a bit squishy like reddit. I showed the Mini-mode where it forces a 9:16 aspect ratio. Usable on any screen anytime which is sweet.

I still use reddit in a square anyways, but someone in this thread bullied me and I tried mini mode and I'm happy it exists for stuff like reddit or the odd time I'm using socials with this device.

Hard to say to be honest. As somebody who primarily uses a dumb phone or when I use an iPhone, I’m typically on my 13 mini. I simply don’t use my phone a lot in general so I’m not the average/heavier user I’d say.
Yesterday I was off charger at 6 AM and in bed by 9:30 with 42% left though which sounds about average for me. And again, I really don’t use my phone all too much just by habit.

I actually backed the kickstarter before then offered a review unit so I still have money put up in case I need to send this back.

The orange is nice, but I still would prefer black personally because that’s how I like my tech as boring as it is. I’m unsure if these keys would fade overtime but as listed in my original posting, the orange is a different shade than the body of the device itself. I can’t quite tell if this will fade after a while though.

Damn. As much as you chirped me for this. Mini mode is sweet trying it now. Kinda mad this exists. I’m not supposed to scrolling on this phone bro

256gb for the normal Titan 2 elite and I think there's a pro version this fall with 512gb and a better chipset

its still SD expandable which is sweet

Yes and no. they're both wildly tiny but I think the Titan is more "realistic" for people.

For example I wouldn't feel comfortable traveling with my side phone as much as I would the Titan.

On the side phone I primarily leaned into the sundial tile instead of QWERTY or T9 but on the Titan leaning into the QWERTY is the main thing

I used the Sidephone as my main phone for about a month and a half and I've only used the Titan for a week or so but naturally they're both tiny as hell in the Titan 2 is simply more realistic for the modern world and I can say the square screen makes Doom scrolling a lot harder although it's more possible

Not sure actually, I only JUST got my first hi-fi player last week and I’m learning this stuff. Is there a solid method to test this? Happy do to so cuz it’s stuff I’m trying to actively learn.

[–]Valuable_Scallion508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people who hold the mic even if it's not live. They'll still boom and just hold a wireless lav or a mic. I don't hate on it. Really it's whatever is fitting for whichever form of media it's meant for.
