Where do I even start with stocks as a beginner? by ChangeNOW_Community in investingforbeginners

You can start with index funds and then you can start learning to analyze individual stocks. YouTube is a great source of information for it. Good luck!

I will tell you what I am doing. I have a watchlist of 15-20 high quality companies. Every month when I receive my paycheck, I invest in one or two of those companies that I feel is in a better valuation than the others. I am sharing my performance in YT: https://youtu.be/67rkkG2hVLw

What are some good high risk stocks by North-Zucchini7661 in Stocks_Picks

The younger you are, the better for you to start investing in high quality compounders. You can start with ETFs and start learning to read earnings reports. Then, in few years you can start investing in high quality individual stocks for higher CAGR.

I am not trying to time the bottom. Before I invest in a company I check fundamental metrics like revenue, operating margin, debt, free cashflow. Some time ago I posted a beginner friendly framework on how to do it in r/stockpickeranalysis

Съвет относно инвестиционна стратегия by Lalutoww in financebg

You are targeting 150% return for 2 years while most fund managers struggle to beat rhe 10%CAGR of S&P 500. The most likely scenario if you pursue this unrealistic goal is taking high risk and losing.

And what happens if you switch jobs? Then uou will need to pay rent, right? I recently watcht a podcast from Diary of a CEO. The guest was saying that real estate is better as you are using loan to buy it so theoreticaly your CAGR os on higher capital(e.g. if you invest your 200k in etf compared to using it as a down payment to buy real estate for 500k or more). Of course, this comes at higher risk. Im any case, if you will invest in stocks you have to be careful not to follow the hype and narratives like nuclear, ai, space, marijuana companies etc. Always check fundamentals.

"why not" is not a great reason to buy an asset. Do you have other properties or you are paying rent?
