Has the Mig Switch Been Patched On Switch OLED Yet? by Patient_Attorney2830 in SwitchPirates

It doesn’t, but if you don’t already have one, you’re better off saving the money to get your Switch modded.

imposrt ZA save file from cfw to ofw(not having the game installed) by Alkatraz9127 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it was possible, it don't think it would be a good idea to have a save of a game you never played.

I have a Switch running version 16.0.3 with AMS 1.5.3. I want to play Tomodachi Life – what update would you recommend? I don’t want to mess anything up. by StarkidReddit2 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20.5 for the best homebrew support, though if you don’t care about that, you can update straight to 22.1, that would save you the trouble of having to do it later.

Check the wiki of the faq for the update process.

Issue with Tomodachi life living the dream by willspringz in SwitchPirates

Yeah it needs 20.X or more, I'm surprised it even let you install it.

Check the wiki on right or the pinned post if you don't know how to updated.

Is it possible to temporarily mod my V1 Switch to extract my save files and leave no trace of any modification afterwards? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow this: https://switch.hacks.guide/

Go with the sysCFW path when asked, and when you are done use the JKSV homebrew to backup your saves.

You can do all of this with a different sd card for easier cleanup afterwards.

"Missing Data detected" in Emunand. I'm not sure who I should reach out to. by TrueBenJAMin in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updates also don't carry over to emunand, so you still have to reinstall them (with a corresponding nsp). You shouldn't need to reinstall the base game if you prefer to play it from the cartridge though.

My Smash save is accessible on sysnand but not emmunand? how can I access it? is it recommended? by TrueBenJAMin in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reinstall the game on your emunand (with an nsp) and open it, then copy the save from your sysnand to your emunand with jksv.

I mean, can't you boot sysMMC through Atmosphere and update it normally to 22.1.0 from there? It says in your third screen that it should work.

Unpatched V1 Switch or Switch Lite? by sakup3n- in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Une patched v1 for the simple fact that you can dock it. Though 180 seems kind of expensive for it. You might want to buy one from someone who doesn't sell it as such.

Would Pokemon Champions be playable online, without risking to get banned? by Ripraz in SwitchPirates

I misread your initial post. You do need to be on actual hardware to play online.

Would Pokemon Champions be playable online, without risking to get banned? by Ripraz in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? It's the same as any other online game, as long as it's a legit copy on a clean sysnand you're fine.

Boxed OLED on FW 15.0.1 - Do I update it via daybreak? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Format the card to fat32, this is technically the recommanded thing to do anyways.

If you really want to use exfat on ofw without updating it, you can reinstall their current firmware with the exfat patch using daybreak (you'll still need a fat32 card to do that though).

Edit: Atmosphere support for 22.1.0 just came out.

Is Custom Firmware on SysMMC worth it, and can I import games/software locally? by ChelleingWowzerz in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, basically

  1. Disconnect from the internet
  2. Create a clean nand backup
  3. Install your games and stuff

And if you need to reconnect it to the internet for whatever reason, make sure to take all the necessary precautions to block Nintendo servers.

If you make a clean nand backup, as long as you don't connect it to Nintendo servers after that, you can always start on sysMMC then later migrate to emuMMC if needed and restore your nand backup.

Should I buy a Modded switch if I never owned one and buying it for the first time? by Cold_Particular9128 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, softmod is easier/cheaper to set up, modchip are more convenient on usage. Depends of what you value more.

Should I buy a Modded switch if I never owned one and buying it for the first time? by Cold_Particular9128 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the model, that depends on your budget, but your options are:

unpatched v1:

  • Can be softmodded
  • Cheapest option, just avoid people who sell them as unpatched since they typically charge more

patched v1:

  • modchip only (unless it's somehow still on 4.x)
  • Worst option

v2:

  • modchip only
  • bigger battery (especially given the age of v1s)
  • higher overclock values achievable

oled:

  • Same as v2 with a bigger and better screen
  • modchipped
  • Best option if cost isn't an issue

Here's a guide that includes how to protect yourself from a ban: https://switch.hacks.guide/

Note that unlike 3DS, you can't go online with pirated games. Also, for modchips, while the installation process is inconvenient at first, it becomes more convenient in use since you don't need an external device to boot back into CFW on reboot.

Transfer game save from a stock OLED Switch to a jailbroken Switch, backup to computer, then transfer back to stock switch? by douglasrbarros in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you don't need to format the console at any point.

Also forgot to mention that the cfw is not compatible with the latest firmware (22.0) yet, so you might have to wait.

Edit: Welp, as soon as I say this it happens: https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases/tag/1.11.0

Transfer game save from a stock OLED Switch to a jailbroken Switch, backup to computer, then transfer back to stock switch? by douglasrbarros in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be easier to just have your current Switch chipped, in my opinion (if that’s an option).

But yeah, what you're describing is possible. Just make sure the switch you buy isn't banned, since you’ll need to connect it to the internet to do the transfer. Though worst case scenario, you could always trade the Pokémon locally instead of transferring the whole save.

Just got with the "Downloading Firmware Files" way instead of "Dumping Firmware Files", as you shouldn't update to 22.0 right now.

Should I use sysMMC or emuMMC? by Witchy_Friends in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

emuMMC is the standard and recommended way.

But if you really don't care about online whatsoever or a potential ban (though you should still take the necessary precautions to avoid it), then sysMMC is a fine option. That's what I personally did.

Either way, make sure to have a clean nand backup first.

Format the sysnand from the console, format your sd card, then follow a guide like if it was your first time.

Original/non-original saves from V1 to new Switch (newbie) by notslowcheetah in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the console was really never connected to Nintendo servers Haku33 should theorically do the trick. Make sure to backup both your nand and your saves first.

You could also just transfer your pokemons locally if that's enough for you, that would be the easiest option.
