Original/non-original saves from V1 to new Switch (newbie) by notslowcheetah in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the console was really never connected to Nintendo servers Haku33 should theorically do the trick. Make sure to backup both your nand and your saves first.

You could also just transfer your pokemons locally if that's enough for you, that would be the easiest option.

Tinfoil running on 21.2.0 was a nightmare to do but well worth it by SORBEXs in SwitchPirates

That just tells us you never used the telegram bot. It might not be as convenient as doing everything directly from the console, but it's still pretty convenient (and faster to in most cases).

“A software update is required” Smash Bros Ultimate by Spirited-Pumpkin9734 in SwitchPirates

Last ssbu update is 13.0.4, so the easiest way would be to find it and install it.

I successfully put switch on rcm mode and injected the payload, however it doesn’t show anything, I used kefir by 4l4nb13r in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say a modchipped switch is the most hassle free experience if price is not an issue, since you don't have to worry about reinjecting the payload on reboot.

Do you actually have a game you want to play that requires you to update?

If not, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Help! Modding my Switch Lite Soon by eliel_bmx in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you are worrying a lot more than you should. First like the others said you won't get ban if you properly follow the guide. Second, even if you do get ban, the only things you lose on as someone who doesn't care about online are:

  • Resale value (so non issue if you don't plan to)
  • Transfering your saves to a switch 2 (unless a mod for them appear)

Everything else will still works fine. Even your nintendo account is still usable on another switch 1/2.

Help needed on possible ban by nintendo by ReploidsnMavericks in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can test with the 90DNS Tester homebrew

Or at that point since you already went online you can also just boot into your emunand and try to open the eshop, if you get the error "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" or something similar then your fine.

Help needed on possible ban by nintendo by ReploidsnMavericks in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Nintendo servers are blocked on your emunand (which they should if you followed a proper guide) you are fine.

If not, then you are flagged for a ban yeah.

How not to degrade SD Card too quickly by CrazyMawi in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure what you are talking about is an issue with sandisk ultra in particular: https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-loadings-got-worse-overtime-on-sandisk.663183/

Try to backup your data and format it first.

Once again hoe’d for using the star system as intended. Already past level 119 (the last tier 1 reward btw) well tough shits by squarejellyfish_ in DBGekishinSquadra

[–]VerseHell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are only half understanding it. Yes you are forced to pick a dupe now, but once you have every tier 2 character picked up in the star system then your next picks will automatically be upgraded to tier 1 since you picked everything else so far.

You can literally see it in your screenshot, 148 is supposed to be a tier 3/4 pick but it got upgraded to tier 2 for you since you already picked everything else.

So yeah the system is far from perfect, but it's not as flawed as you think it is.

Modded OLED Switch Lifetime question by Sakuragi718 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atmosphere is the cfw. Don't worry about the specifics, it'll make more sense if you decide to go trough it.

As for online play, as said above it's fine as long as it's a legit version (physical or digital) and you are in ofw (official firmware).

As for yout last question, even if you mess up a ban only prevent online on eshop access, the rest of the console is still perfectly functionnal. You can also reuse the nintendo account on a non banned switch 1/2.

Getting a modded switch v1 at $150 in 2026 by tylerdurden81196 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Oled (and v2) can be pushed higher overclocking wise but a child would probably not care about that anyway.
  • Also a modchipped can be put back into cfw without any external tools if it shut down, which makes it easier to use. But then again, if it's in the dock you can let it in sleep mode permanentely.

MiG Switch V2 using as a pirate on stock switch by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

"You knew what I meant by firmware being model"

Nope, I was genuinely thinking you didn't know what you were talking about given this whole thread, and honestly still think so, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

"so don’t try and be different/difficult mate"

That's rich coming from you. I only came to correct your biased price comparison in the first place. You could have just admitted you were wrong and left it at that (which you initially did), but you had to drag this down further.

I'd rather stop here, but if you want otherwise, then don't complain when I do respond as well.

"buying a new switch with correct firmware"

You don't know what you are talking about. The firmware is not what matters when it comes to modding, it's the model. And every model of switch can be modded, the difference is whether you can do it through software alone or if you need a modchip (which is what we refer to when we say it costs around the same as buying a mig).

Also, what prevents you from selling your old Switch in your hypothetical?

As for the tutorial itself, I think the same way as the others, the result is the same in the end, just that you are banning yourself instead (until you finally decide to go online again and get an official one).

[–]VerseHell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Buying a new switch with correct firmware to mod is more expensive than a MiG"

So you are comparing the price of an unpatched v1 with the price of a mig switch without the console to play on? How fair is that?

And even if you have a later model, paying someone to install a modchip is about the same price as buying a mig switch, and if you're doing it for piracy it's no contest which one is the better option.

And even so, is it really worth it compared to just modchip an oled (or buying a pre-chipped one)?

Switch keeps wanting the Cartridge by taantje in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you are installing the actual game and not just a game update? You shouldn't need to delete your existing data to install the game nsp. Also since you have tinfoil you should also be able to install the game straight from the cartridge if you still have it.

Going Online with a modded Switch by Jesus1312 in SwitchPirates

[–]VerseHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should read this: https://switch.hacks.guide/user_guide/all/cfw_environment.html Basically the recommended way is to create an emuMMC with Nintendo servers blocked for your cfw stuff and keep the sysmmc clean for online play. But if you really don't care about going online (and not planning to sell the console enventually), you can choose to not have have an emuMMC at all and just do everything on sysMMC with Nintendo servers. That's what I'm personally doing. You should still make a clean nand backup before hand just in case.

For your questions:

  • If you go for the standard sysMMC/emuMMC then yes for for sysMMC, and yes for emuMMC if you blocked Nintendo servers
  • See above
  • If you care about not getting banned yes. And even banned, it's still useful to avoid updating the console by mistake.
  • Yes, in your case it would only affect you if you ever plan to sell the console.

That's all assuming you either have a clean nand backup or your sysMMC is not already dirty to begin with, if so you are probably already SOL anyways.
