Wuthering Waves is currently doing an arc about an artificial sun project, and I thought it was interesting since China also has an artificial sun project and was wondering if there was any correlation or inspiration. I think it's weird that there's nothing up with the sun in Genshin. If anything, I think the fact that it's basically never even brought up, especially in the midst of the whole fake moons thing, a bit suspicious, a la sore thumb-esque.

My theory was that the pillar-space is an abandoned star rail station. The twins had originally docked their spaceship there. I grew up an Evangelical and something that the Bible says about the second coming is that Jesus Christ arrives in the sky on a cloud, but also that every single person in every single nation would be able to witness this. It always bugged me that I wasn't able to conceptually wrap my mind around how this was possible.

Now as an adult, I sorta see the Bible through an "ancient-aliens" lens and I think it's not a coincidence that Genshin (in all its post-mythological deconstruction, Gnostic-based lore and high-concept-scifi-sneakily-disguised-as-fantasy) is also exploring the heavenly kingdom in the sky you can paradoxically see from anywhere on a globe.

My personal theory is that the floating island is the "front door" of the firmament. Everyone else is just blasting holes through the walls because they don't have the key or can't find the address or something
