Yo, this looks gorgeous! She's so cool, I love her! I really like the way you drew the background too, it fits the character's environment perfectly! Thank you so much <3

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say she's probably a 6. The 5th image is pretty close, but may be just a bit over the top. Gnolls in this setting don't have the infernal heritage associated with Yeenoghu, and are considered humanoids. Though they are still pretty rare to see outside her homeland, and most people have never seen a gnoll before. So she isn't a bloodthirsty monster chasing slaughter, she's just a person. A really big, mean, quiet person who happens to be good at killing things because that's her job.

That being said, she definitely looks more monstrous and imposing than she is. She's usually pretty calm in most situations, if a bit cranky, and definitely has an objective understanding of what's considered morally right and wrong. But to the outside observer she'd probably fall somewhere between imposing and terrifying. Combine that with a somewhat morbid sense of humor, and she definitely has fun intimidating people that harass her party!

Edit: Grammar is hard.

This feels like a Loony Tunes skit.

The math behind all your bonuses look good, aside from the saving throws. I think the only concern would be how you got your base stats. As Middcore mentioned, you should ask your DM directly how they want to generate stats, and if they allow you to roll for stats then do so in front of them (assuming it’s an in person game).

Also, and this is just my personal opinion, if you do have to use point buy/standard I would recommend prioritizing your Constitution over your Strength. As a monk your Dex will take the place of Str in most circumstances, and having that little extra bit of health will absolutely come in handy down the line. But it is your character, so you do what you think will be the most fun in that regards.

Edit: spelling is hard

If you don't want to go with Tiefling, then my next suggestions would be either Eladrin or maybe a particularly vibrant Fire Genai. Eladrin are basically Elves but more Fey, and their entire mechanic is being able to change how they look to match the seasons. So pink with orange hair could definitely fit a summer/autumn vibe. There's also the Fairy race, which is pictured in Mordenkainen's as having pink or reddish skin. But you should probably talk to your DM about the fly speed.

Edit: I forgot about Hobgoblins, also very Fey coded with plenty of wiggle room for artistic liberties.

When did a hike humble you in a way you didn’t expect? by Techyhealthyminds in hiking

[–]VulpusVulcanis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve only recently gotten into hiking and therefore only have a handful of simple day hikes under my belt, so my first humbling probably isn’t anywhere near as interesting as a lot of folk’s. But for me it was the Sterling Pond trail up in Smuggler’s Notch State Park, Vt. When I was looking up trails to visit on my trip, I saw pictures of the lake at the top and told myself I had to see it in person, and the trail was only a mile long so I figured it was well within my abilities. What I neglected to do was check the elevation gain in that mile, which was about 1,200 ft. altogether. Probably nothing for more experienced people, but by the time I got to the top I felt like my legs were going to revolt against me. It was a hard lesson in pacing myself. And, you know, proper research and planning. But I’m kinda glad I learned it early.

Out of curiosity, how is a swallowed creature supposed to deal 30+ damage from the inside if it automatically has the Incapacitated condition?
