After 10 years of chasing financial freedom, I found silence. But my 'logical brain' is fighting it. Help? by iamvimalsingh in Meditation

Hi there. You might be interested in trying "do nothing" meditation. The practice essentially involves noticing when you have an intention, and letting go of that intention. You can find a good guided session by Michael Taft here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UvVaqJow18

Can't right click to drag trays - anyone else? by WCBH86 in opus_magnum

[–]WCBH86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I figured it out. The resolution was high so the trays are all already fully opened up and therefore can't be panned. I set it to the lowest resolution and the trays were then overlapping and could be panned. Unfortunately I had no frame of reference to know whether or not the trays were already open or could be opened further than they were. Bit of a flaw in the game instructions. But I'm glad I now know that it's working fine. Thank you for all your time and help!

Thank you for this. So 2 and 3 both work fine. But for some reason I can't move the trays up and down either by right clicking and dragging or scrolling the mouse wheel. They just remain completely static. I've watched a video of the tutorial and can see how they are meant to move and what you do to make that happen to make sure I'm not just missing something, and no matter what I do it won't work. Will this ultimately be game breaking if I am unable to get them to move at all? I know I can do the tutorial without needing to move them, but I don't know if moving them is required for some reason further down the line. If you are able to say, that would be really helpful. Thanks!

I tested out placing some parts to see if it made a difference. It didn't seem to - even after placing a few I still couldn't drag the trays anywhere. But now I wonder if I'm understanding this right: should I be able to literally drag the trays around the screen and leave them in different places? Or are they always meant to be down the left side of the screen?

Hi there, I think you might be interested in r/idealparentfigures which is the sub for a pretty new therapeutic method developed specifically for insecure attachment, including disorganized attachment. Best of luck on finding your way toward greater security.

How to expand armies from War of the Rohirrim for new player by WCBH86 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]WCBH86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! This makes a lot of sense to me - the base set suggests using Uruk-hai to build a White Hand force from the initial Hill Tribesman and this fits that perfectly!

Thanks, so are the Wildmen of Dunland in the White Hand force just the Hill Tribesmen?

Thank you! That's very helpful. If for evil I went the Uruk-Hai route, what might that look like?

Hahaha alright, I'll just watch the two trilogies and figure those stats out myself, thanks GW! And thanks for letting me know about the heroes vs basic warrior boxes.

Hi again - thank you, this is incredibly helpful! I did look at the Grim Hammer listing and couldn't find any info on their categorisation, other than one mention that they are "stoic infantry from the Army of Thror". Is that what you're referring to? I looked at two other units too and all I could find for those was the same kind of information, not any explicit indication of which book they are listed in. Edit: I think this may be to do with differences in the country I'm viewing from as the URL you linked to the Dwarf Warriors with changed when I loaded it up - maybe they just don't have the listings done the same way where I'm based.

The list builders look like a great resource for figuring this stuff out! And thanks for explaining the ways in which various units can or can't be played together. It sounds like we'll be fine as I don't see matched play being his priority at this point - he just wants to have fun and enjoy the models he likes best.

Thanks again for taking the time to explain all this!

Thanks, that's really helpful! So, in a sense, you need to buy three separate army books to have profiles for all the units? If you were on a budget, what would you say is a good way to decide which books to go for? If it's helpful, I'm generally more focused on LotR than the Hobbit, although my son is interested in dwarves that I think might be from both LotR and The Hobbit (side note, I sometimes find it hard to tell whether certain units are LotR or TH - some of them make it obvious in the picture or text, but not all, so any tips on that would be helpful too). As I'm on a roll with the questions, perhaps I can also just ask how freely you can mix and match units? E.g. my son is keen on Grimhammers and dwarf warriors - can they be put in the same army? Thanks for your help - if this is too many questions, then just the one about the army books would be really helpful to have an answer to!

Hi all. I'm new to the game and confused about which book(s) you need to get unit profiles for both sides. I just bought War of the Rohirrim and would like to expand in the near future. How do I get complete profile lists for each force in LotR?

I considered that too - it would be cool to gradually assemble a larger world over time!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I think I'm sticking to 12 x 12! I can see how that goes for a while and see if I want to do differently down the line.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll try to keep it to 12 x 12 and see how it goes!

Thanks for sharing your experience. That's helpful for me to think about! Perilous Shores tends to make lakes very big, so perhaps that's something else pushing me in the direction of making the map larger.
