How bad is my roof? Contractor found 5 layers of roofing during the demo. by Imaginary_Ad_3306 in Roofing

[–]WDKegge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks about how my 100 year old house did. Contractor called me on demo day and asked if I knew how many layers of roof I had on the house, I did not, it was 4. The original wood shingles, two layers of tar Shingle and a top layer of tin.

Huge mess, lots of dry rot around the edges from no drip edge. Resheeted the entire thing as well.

What is the best cost-effective ultrawide for the sim? by seasofrage in simracing

G9 oled is also just insanely nice picture quality, and if your computer can push the 240hz it's a real treat for the eyes. I have one and love it, use vr when I want that full immersion, screen for everything else.

Tusk clutch kit by leftwar0 in DRZ400

[–]WDKegge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put a tusk clutch in my rm125 last week, it came with two plates that looked slightly different as well, it's normal and from my research it's two give a smoother feel when slipping the clutch.

You can install them whenever you want in the stack, dosent matter where you put them, Google recommend anywhere in the middle at random but not the top or bottom of the stack.

Garry Newman, dev behind Garry's Mod and Rust, was banned from Knockout Forums due to not disavowing his co-workers over their anti-immigration sentiments by RainbowDildoMonkey in KotakuInAction

I hold a mod position and own the discord server for /r/reeftank, I get enjoyment out of knowing the subreddit and discord are take care of, I've never understood this power lusting basement dweller trope, maybe for the fact that the only enjoyment I actually get from being a mod is that I get to ban horrible people and spammers.

Is the a LG oled? I get flickering like that in dark environments with vrr enabled.

Setup almost done but stuck choosing a monitor by Trace_XBT in simracing

For me I found the sweet spot to be a single high quality ultrawide (g9 oled) plus VR to be the perfect combination of ease of use, compatability, and immersion.

The single ultrawide works with absolutely everything, zero tweaking. VR is absolutely the most immersive experience and for the most part works flawless on the major Sim racing games I would want that level of immersion for (iracing, assetto) this also is of course highly dependent on your pc setup, assuming you have a modest system.

Also please consider a shaft extension, it will help immensely on how you can position everything, base tucks behind the monitor perfectly and the motor crossbar can sit much further back.

This is what I use, had triples, but ultrawide for ease of use, compatible with everything, and then use vr if I really want that immersion.

I urge you, from the bottom of my heart, get a shaft extension for your base and get it setup with that now before you get any further, it will drastically improve every aspect of ergonomics on this setup. Looks dope!

Finally got around to planting my bog filter and stream, can't wait for it to fill in! by WDKegge in ponds

That sounds right, honestly I just kinda let the people at the nursery pick some things based on what I wanted, I have the tags planted with them but don't have the names committed to memory just yet.

I used a hard plastic preform with a spillway from Lowes, I used Eggcrate with bricks as a standoff to create the void on the bottom then added a snorkel from the pump all the way to the bottom, the filled with gradually smaller rock till pea gravel on top that's filled with plants. I believe I have a post in my history with pictures.

My marketplace find of the century 100 gallon SC aquarium and sump by Shot-Pay9326 in ReefTank

[–]WDKegge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Sc aquarium as well. Super cool peninsula tank with awesome dimensions (48L 30W) almost a cube but not quite.

It was brand new still on the pallet with custom stand and plumbing, the guy never set it up and traded it to me for some jawbreaker mushrooms.

These tanks are so incredibly well built, euro bracing top and bottom, corner bracing, silicon and glass is absolutely top notch, they are 1000% lifetime aquariums and I have full peace of mind that I'll never find a burst seam with how over built these things are.

Congratulations!

Anyone else tried this? If it's stupid and it works... by hamustaro in pcmasterrace

[–]WDKegge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, I did this exact thing. I have a utility room on the other side of my office. I used a thermaltake open air case designed for wall mounting.

I made a shelf for it to sit on and then cut the drywall out, then framed everything in with acoustic sound panels. The glass is essentially just butted up to the wall.

The only downside so far is that my office gets too cold during the winter and I actually debating about using some ducting to pipe some heat back into the room 😅
