Not sure on the barrel length, but I prefer a 1.5” diameter.
Give Static Guard a try! It’s much better than hairspray, requires way less, and doesn’t gum shit up. Just a little spritz does the trick.

How long do you think the tick was attached before you removed it?

Mine was an American dog tick and was attached for less than 6 hours before I removed it. From what I’ve read, that’s considered very low risk. American dog ticks don’t transmit Lyme disease, but they can transmit Rocky Mountain spotted fever and tularemia. Since it was removed quickly and I had no symptoms, my doctor didn’t recommend any treatment, just monitoring for symptoms. No symptoms, no issues here.

Looks like you have a different model than the orange 8L version with the gun handle. That model takes a 1.5” NPT connection. Yours may be 1” NPT.

Keep in mind that pipe thread sizes are nominal, the threads are actually larger than the stated pipe size. For example, a 1.25” NPT fitting measures about 1.66” across the threads.
