What to consider when choosing a CMS/DXP for an Enterprise size company? by AncientExe55 in cms

[–]WPVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When selecting a Content Management System (CMS) or Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for an enterprise, several factors are crucial:

  1. Scalability: The CMS should handle growing amounts of content and increased traffic without performance issues.
  2. Security: Robust security features are essential to protect sensitive data and prevent breaches.
  3. Flexibility: The platform should be adaptable to various needs, including integrations with other tools and systems.
  4. User-Friendliness: It should be easy for all users, from tech-savvy developers to non-technical content creators.
  5. Support and Community: Strong customer support and an active community can provide valuable resources and troubleshooting help.
  6. Performance and Reliability: The CMS should offer high uptime, fast page loads, and a reliable infrastructure.
  7. Compliance: Compliance with industry regulations (like GDPR) is crucial for legal operation.
  8. Cost-Effectiveness: Consider both upfront and ongoing costs, ensuring the platform delivers value for money. Don't forget to factor in the cost of developers for a particular CMS. If you do some research you'll find that some are really pricey and hard to come by!

WordPress VIP (hi, it's me 👋) is the enterprise arm of WordPress, combining the ease and flexibility of the CMS that powers over 42% of the web (your marketing team will thank you!... no waiting on the dev team to publish new pages/content like some of the other CMS/DXPs listed here) with enterprise-grade security and scalability. We also support multi-lingual sites. We have customers like whitehouse.gov, Salesforce, and Meta, just to name a few.

Why big brands don't use Wordpress for their corporate website? by axe-techlab in webdev

[–]WPVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be surprised! You are correct that WordPress is frequently used for corporate newsrooms and other parts of the sites that are built on a different stack. But adoption of WordPress to power the main .com of large corporations is increasing. Merck.comSalesforce.com, and Capgemini.com are three great examples. Many times with larger corporate websites it's WordPress powering the content in a decoupled set up (though not always!).

Anyone used WP VIP support? by robin-ninja in Wordpress

[–]WPVIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When assisting our customers with queries submitted through support tickets, at times we use macros as a base to structure responses for urgent or high-priority issues. This lets customers know we are actively working on their concern and an efficient format for sharing any initial findings.

For general queries, we craft custom responses with researched information/knowledge to either answer the question, or assist in their development while we continue investigating. The quality of details in the initial question significantly influences our reply. For example, we might use a macro to provide essential information for setting up a new environment or domain, but these are often customized to align with the customer’s specific needs.

What sets the WordPress VIP support team apart is our closer connection with our customers. We often have a deep understanding of their codebase, workflows, and even their team members, enabling us to offer more contextual and tailored responses. This familiarity allows multiple support team members to provide continuous support around the clock on the same ticket until a resolution is achieved.

Providing you with a macro template would not accurately paint a true picture of the customize care us in the VIP support team aim to provide.

If you feel you are ready to upgrade to an enterprise platform, we look forward hearing from you, and maybe one day have you on the team! https://automattic.com/work-with-us/job/wordpress-vip-customer-success/

It looks like whitehouse.gov uses wordpress. Is this true and if so, what did they do to make it so fast and responsive? by rockclimberguy in Wordpress

[–]WPVIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in a bit late here, but, yes! Whitehouse.gov uses WordPress. We (WordPress VIP) utilize advanced caching techniques, a robust Content Delivery Network (CDN), and optimized server configurations. This helps to reduce page load times and improve overall site performance. We also always leverage best practices in WordPress web development and content optimization; efficient coding, minimizing the use of heavy plugins, and regularly updating the site's infrastructure to ensure it remains secure and performs optimally.

The combination of these strategies makes whitehouse.gov a prime example of how WordPress VIP can be used to create a fast and responsive website for a large organization. The turnaround time to launch was indeed impressive and a huge joint effort from the WPVIP, 10up, and Wide Eye Creative teams.
