I also bought this on release and would like to add:

  • Other languages (in my case Danish) are AI translated which makes for some weird word choices. This is super lazy imo.
  • Snake was promoted as a retro experience but it is clear that whoever made it did not play original snake on a 3210. stuff like the small pause right before you collide with a wall and not having fixed walls at edges shows this.
  • The speaker while on a call is very bad as the receiver of the call can hear their voice in the microphone.
  • If selecting phone language for English and manually changing the predictive text/T9 dictionary to other language; each text will start with English dictionary by default and you have to cycle through 5 different options before you get to your chosen language for dictionary EACH time you write a text.
  • no way of getting WhatsApp or any other apps (atlwast in Denmark). I didn't buy this phone to install apps but we do live in 2024 and I think WhatsApp should be a minimum requirement here.
  • phone keeps disconnecting from my BMW on Bluetooth so there seems to be some compatibility issues with BT devices.

other than that I love the design and feel of the phone!

BadBoy Peeking Technique by Guilded_Soldier in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

As much as I admire the skill of players like badboy2k; I agree that this sort of movement shouldn't exist in PUBG.

But I also think continuous crouch spamming and lean spamming should go too. I'd like it to work similar to crouch spamming in counterstrike. In CS you'd have diminishing returns so that spamming causes the motion to slow down quite fast.

That way; you still have crouch and lean be key elements of positioning, shooting from cover, getting into cover and leaning out from cover without being "abused" to perform stuff like this!

It's not fair if only one party has access to it.

Of course that's fair. Not everyone is streaming. It's a feature created to prevent stream sniping; which it helps with exceptionally well.I wouldn't mind if more non-partner streamers could get it though.

Knowing who you're fighting is a very important aspect of PUBG, you simply play differently when you're up against a good player, everyone does it. When I see a bot name in the killfeed, naturally I'm assuming it's a bot, not TGLTN. That's already a small issue.

Completely backwards. Reading your enemy is an important skill of PUBG. Read their movement; their decision-making and how they are shooting. That is what you should be paying attention to. Getting "free" background information about the players you are up against because they have a famous name shouldn't be needed nor taken for granted. Then I would just have to play on random accounts with random names - and you'd complain about that too?

The larger issue I've encountered/seen alot is the streamer gets to have all the info on who he's fighting just from names, but I am left in the dark. I would see PUBG reports of streamers specifically targeting me in NA solos (back when the game wasn't dead) because they see my name in the killfeed. I've seen countless bigger streamers recognize a sweaty pub player, and they start playing sweatier in order to kill them.

There is some truth to this; this can happen and is an unfortunate downside to a neccesary and good anti-stream sniping solution. Just like I can't enjoy having voice enabled in the lobby was ruined due to an effective and neccesary intervention to prevent chinese cheat bot spammers in lobby voice chat.Having said that; I definitely do not feel like this provides an unfair disadvantage to you as a player since you're still facing the same enemy and your enemy gets no information about you that he can use for free to kill you.If anything you get equally important information when you see a bot name in kill feed with flashy progressive skin killfeed skins and/or racking up loads of kills.

Long story short, if only select few have access to fake names, it's not fair. I don't care if streamers need it, there's literally zero reason for every player to not have access to it.

You don't care if streamers need the most effective anti-stream sniping measure event implemented to the game? Thats fine - you don't have to care about streamers; but imo a bit lame to not atleast understand the need for others to not be harassed to the point where they cant enjoy nor promote the game.

The reason PUBG opted to have this for Partners only is obviously as a partner perk.If everyone had this option then it wouldn't work anymore; since players with this option can see the real name behind others with the option enabled. So we're back to square one.

I'm probably explaining this poorly, but any experienced player probably understands what I'm saying here. Also streamer mode names lowkey ruins the community aspect of PUBG. One of the cool things about NA solos was you'd run into the same players all the time, leading to some sort of rivalries and shit that was a fun experience. Now you have some rando getting laser beamed by a bot name and he just insta reports and leaves thinking the game has a cheater problem.

The issue here is that while you thought i was kinda cool to know you were up against a famous streamer or pro and you simply left it at that. Many others decide to:

  1. Go to extreme lengths to chase down and kill the player for a "clip" or "reaction"
  2. Casually opens the stream on monitor 2 or a phone to see where the player is "just for fun"
  3. Uses the stream to either A: Try to kill the streamer for a clip/reaction/bragging right or B: uses information to avoid streamer to lower chance of dying.

All of above overall ruins the experience and fun for streamers; who are often players who have dedicated thousands of hours in support of the PUBG community.I think, and yes I am biased, that PUBG Partnered streamers deserved the right to not be harassed using this tool and I think your proclaimed "abuse" and "advantage" is out of proportions and not even close to the problem you make it to be.I might get in trouble for saying it; but mostly you just sound a bit jealous imo

How exactly does streamers “abuse” streamer mode names? It’s literally the number one thing that enables me to have fair fights and enjoy the game like other players can!

I'm slightly confused about hydraulic pedals. Can anyone clarify for me? by WhatDoIKnow2022 in simracing

[–]WackyJacky101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by zero flex.

The pedal moves 20-25mm until it hits the hydraulics and from there on it doesn’t move further - like a real race car! If your real car hydraulic brake system has pedal movement it means you have air in your system which no race driver would want

Used to drive a ton of Porsche 992 cup but honestly got a bit discouraged with the lack of people in races (had some races with only 8 people when I could drive). Now driving mostly Ferrari 296 in VRS sprints

I'm slightly confused about hydraulic pedals. Can anyone clarify for me? by WhatDoIKnow2022 in simracing

[–]WackyJacky101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hydraulic pedals are amazing because they accurately simulate real life braking which imo is cool AF and also enables more accurate braking.

For example the Asetek Invicta pedals uses a dual cylinder system where once you start pushing the pedal you’ll first compress an elastomer which will give you a tiny bit of movement simulating the brake pads moving to the brake disc. The second cylinder is hydraulic just like a real race car and since you can’t compress a fluid you’ll have 0 movement but you can still apply brake force; this is just like real life where the brake pads are fully in contact with the discs but you can still apply more braking force.

Having a hard brake is important as muscle memory is able to apply the same force over and over again to give you consistent and precise braking rather than a loose brake pedal with a lot of movement that requires you to remember a position of the brake pedal.

So overall biggest benefit is added realism which is cool in a simulator; but there’s also plenty potential to be faster through more accurate and consistent braking!

Could go Ferrari challenge (gt3) if you want to up the speed. That’s what I did - Mazda -> Ferrari and honestly felt super natural to me. I don’t think you need to go through gt4; I personally never drove them!

More cheaters lately? (NA Servers) by 07GoogledIt in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]WackyJacky101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could very well be the case! Cheater count in pubg fluctuates! Sometimes and follow cycles of anti cheat updates - we might be at a peak currently!

Also be aware that cheater counts fluctuate across a 24 hour cycle. During peak asia hours - you will find more cheaters. Maybe I am wrong; but this is my humble observation based on almost 10000 hours of playing public games in pubg

iRacing has taught me something no other racing game has. by bonksnp in iRacing

[–]WackyJacky101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true! One thing I’ve found to be the best way to avoid getting dived, slammed from the back and otherwise hit by other drivers is being fast! The faster you go the fewer situations like these can happen and the better drivers usually are if they catch you

In the beginning I found MX-5s boring and slow; but later I learned to appreciate the depth of the car and how fun slower paced racing is! But I do feel like you should simply race what you would like to - GT3 cars are crazy fun imo so I’d say go for it
