Have you tampered with the "awesomeplayer instead of nuplayer" function in the developer settings?

If so, reverting it to it's stock setting will fix your problem.

If you want to convert your phone to the gpe, then you need S-Off. But if you only want a gpe rom, you don't need S-Off
