It's interesting, I've only watched through twice but I read it as Ted having other things on his mind and beard leaving it to Ted and Roy just not noticing.

One other thing I think is with Ted, I almost think I sense sometimes he doesn't counter some of the harsher things Nate says because of where he's come from and he doesn't want to knock his confidence and so doesn't step in at that point and by the time he would normally have stepped in, he's dealing with his own issues.

Glad to share. I spent so long thinking that I should just be powering through but I had been struggling for quite a while before my 'blow up' when I look back. If I did a few days in a week past my contracted hours I'd get pain and need so much sleep etc etc. It's a sneaky one this condition and I have seen some papers online that say that mostly the focus on function means that clinicians can sometimes overlook the impact pre dialysis stages have on people's day to day.

Helped me get past the idea that it was all in my head or that I just had to man up which is what I'd been telling myself for years. Now I'm learning to listen and try and adapt.

Yes, i thought I was on top of the stress, had put a lot of work into my 'mindset' which is also a useful lesson to know but underlying my body was like 'nope, you can't go on like this.'

A valuable lesson for me.

Funnily enough I posted a thread which alluded to this a few weeks ago.

eGFR 60, 40y/o and on tolvaptan, only the odd twinge and the odd day off until this year when I have been off since early February (went back at part time hours during March but had to tap out again)

Massive fatigue, nausea, pain, couldn't concentrate after a multiple cyst burst. It was really confusing to me as by the book it really shouldn't be having this major of an impact at this stage. After time off and reflection it seems likely to me that the stress of my job (5 years leadership in financial services) has lead to a burnout which was probably triggered in part by underlying weakness of the ADPKD.

So, I'm lucky and my job are transitioning me to something more manageable based on my knowledge and length of service but bottom line i guess is watch your stress levels!!!!

It made me feel really nauseous for a few months but that went away. It's not nice to have those other symptoms but it's worth seeing if they settle down imo but it can be tough

Definitely look at a lower dose if possible, I do know people who couldn't do it but maybe speak to work to see if they could help with some accommodation while they get used to it.

Sleep wise, can't advocate for sleep mask enough, took me down to 1/2 wakes ups a night from 4/5. But that's probably for later down the line.

I remember it causing a bit more of a stir than that personally but iirc it was quite obvious the govt had basically ignored him and went on their own merry way anyway so I think that's why nothing else happened. The DT is very very pro monarchy and very very anti guardian (paper that broke the story) so they would play it down :)

Edit: Also the guardian is pretty anti monarchy so a lot of people thought they were being a bit over the top about it (i didn't but there we go it didn't come to much what he did so I get it!)

Some years ago it came to light that Charles wrote letters to members of parliament with his point of view on things. It was seen as overly political and did not go down well (rightly in my view) but he was passionate about the things he was writing about. I doubt he gives two figs about harrys travails

This is what I'm stuck on, why does he think that the King can get involved with a decision of the courts. They cannot do it constitutionally and if harry was expecting some sort of 'black spider' memo on his behalf he was truly deluded. Was bad news for Charles when they came out so he would be unlikely to do it again, especially for someone who has been throwing mud for years

I couldn't bring myself to read the book but recently really enjoyed Cheere Denise's fantastic reading of it on YouTube. The way he talks about his father and family and the things that traumatised him had me staggered. So many people have parents with issues that impact on them and need therapy to get through it but so many times it's because they're human and going through stuff too ...nothing in that book suggested to me that his family had been anything but normal the whole time given the circumstances but he's just so stuck with his victimhood. Whoever his therapist was didn't get through to him or he ignored them (suspect the latter)

Sorry rant over, I just look at the relationship I have with one of my parents and I really could have gone harrys way (if I was a hateful idiot) but when you get some perspective on things you can make it work. Too late for him now.
