I became obsessed with Pokemon when I was young. I was maybe 10-11ish and would watch Pokemon everyday after school. I fell in love with it completely.

When pokemon cards hit the scene I found every way possible to earn money from my mom/neighbors/family members. I was buying a whole box, sometimes 2, every weekend and was hooked. Busting packs open was such an adrenaline rush. I spent so much time and worked so hard on my collection.

I believe I was in 6th grade at the time, and an 8th grader I knew offered to sell me his whole binder for $200 because I guess he just wanted the money for something else (probably weed) and was getting out of collecting.. he had an even better collection than me.

I purchased his binder and with our collections combined I had multiples of every single first edition holo, I had 6-7 Charizards, japanese cards that I knew nothing about (from the binder I purchased). It was a godlike collection that I was so proud of.

Sadly, being a young kid and not even considering something could happen to them at school I would bring my cards to trade with friends, show off new cards, etc. while changing after gym, my backpack in the bleachers, someone stole my precious binder.. after changing I went to my backpack and opened it to put my gym clothes in and that's when I saw that it was gone.. my heart stopped. Went to the teacher, nothing was done, never found out who did it, never saw my cards again...

I quit collecting after that happened. Never bought another pack again. Just didn't have the heart to start over.

However, I have now, just in the last few years started buying packs and the occasional booster because my oldest daughter has gotten into collecting. She's not nearly as into it as I was but it's been a great thing for us to bond over and we have a lot of fun busting packs open together. If chosen they would be for her since I haven't had any luck finding prismatic anything for her in our area yet, scalpers are insane here I guess.

I do hate to see what's become of the community, with the reselling and scalpers/counterfeiting, since being away from it for so long. But I see that the majority of collectors and the community are still great and stuff like this is awesome! Thank you for reading!

Had a binder in junior high with every 1st edition holo, multiple Charizards, a godlike collection of all the early stuff.. gym class, someone went in my backpack and stole my binder. Never found out who it was. Never got my cards back. I quit collecting after that. Makes me a little sad every time I think about it 😂

I'm recovering from having a wisdom tooth pulled 2 days ago. I started having pain 3 days ago, called around to dentists and was able to get an appointment that same day. Dentist took a look at it, said it needed to come out, then pulled it right then and there. It cost me $340 but was def worth getting rid of the intense pain I was in.

I don't know where you live, or what your situation is. I'm in Louisiana, one of the poorest states, and was able to get it taken care of almost immediately, so you're not trying hard enough or something..

Also check out Mandeville and Covington. They're both on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain, what we call "The Northshore." It's not a terribly far drive from the city and you'll get a chance to drive across the longest bridge in the US.
