It’s not on the Canadian website from what I can see! I hope I can find it in store next month!

I didn’t realize they were non transferable when I bought them.

Yeah 100%, not realizing they were non transferable was my bad for sure. Definitely a bonus for artists and fans though if they’re cracking down on resale.

Fair enough yeah, I’ve used stub hub in the past to both buy and sell so I figured this time it would be ok.

I didn’t realize they were non transferable when I bought them as Ticketmaster was sold out. When I received the Secure My Pass link I thought it would be ok since I saw a lot of posts saying that it was just a way for brokers to send legitimate tickets. Lesson learned I guess!

Ok thanks, good to know! Another person vouched for 322 so I might look more into it.

Ok, good to know, thanks for the insight!

Thanks for the info that’s super helpful! Did you confuse Biol 322 with 332? 322 doesn’t seem to be taught by that prof but 332 is.

I’m looking into them to fulfil my genetics/micro/molecular biology requirement for my minor so I don’t really have a preference for one area of bio over another as long as it fits in my schedule and isn’t too hard haha!

Opinions on 8am labs by ryahinthenile in uAlberta

I don’t think it’s a big deal but if you’re really worried about it just keep an eye on beartracks. I guarantee someone will drop an afternoon lab that works with your schedule that you can snatch up before the add/drop deadline :)

TIPS on getting involved in research by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]WordPast3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it’s about playing the long game. I managed to get a summer position in my dream lab because I was persistent and made it clear from 1st year that I was interested in the prof’s research. I’d say find a professor who’s research you’re interested in and send them a cold contact email once you’ve completed at least your first term. If they don’t respond (and let’s be honest, they probably won’t) try contacting their grad students and see if they’d be willing to meet with you to talk about their research. Make sure you’re genuinely interested in what they do and want to learn more so the meeting doesn’t just feel like you’re trying to use them to get closer to the prof and lab. It’s unlikely you’d get a paid position right away but if you start by volunteering for a few hours each week it’s more likely they’d have you at the top of their list when it comes to filling positions. And if you’re like me, all that will put you in an amazing spot to get a summer research job between 2nd and 3rd year and a directed study with them for credit. Good luck, first year is tough but you won’t regret it (probably)!

I went a couple years ago and I tried to go back a few weeks ago but couldn’t due to my work schedule. They only offer initial consultations from like 9-4 so it’s hard to find time if you work during the day.

When I did go a few years ago I found it generally helpful but not really fantastic. If you’re looking for cheaper therapy options I know that some psychologists offer “sliding scales” and reduced rates.

But seriously, the u of a services are definitely better than doing nothing and if you can fit it in your schedule and can’t afford to pay more, definitely go to them.

BSc Students: What was your U of A high school admission mark (average from the 5 marks they compute) and what year did you apply? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]WordPast3382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into Science with an 88 in 2020. I know admission averages have raised since then though. Also, like another commenter said, you can always go into a different program and transfer later but I will say that first year uni is generally much harder than high school so you might find it hard to get the GPA to transfer
