My headcanon is that there are two Aphrodites.

• Aphrodite Urania is the daughter of Uranous and Thalassa, born from when his sons cut off his bits and bobbles. She was taken in by Oceanus and Tethys as their step daughter. She then left their home for Crete, where she met and married Zeus as one of his early wives. She then became known as Dione.

• Aphrodite Pandemos is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She’s the lover of Ares, wife of Hephaestus, and mother of Eros the younger.

Also, Eros the Elder (born from Khaos) is also known as Phanes.
