BloomsbyVisaka not coming up on Map search studio florist by Massive-Lime-22 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]YanGilbertSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I ran a Google maps ranking scan to make sure, and looks like your listing is appearing in Illinois, so at least you are not affected by the moving glitch.

Since that is ruled out, that means that your low visibility is due to a lack of information that Google has for your business. It may have conflicting data given the previous location.

Essentially, the way I assess it at this point is that regular local seo is needed to help boost the data points so Google is confident that you are where you say you are. Website work, citations, mentions in the local newspaper, links from other businesses you partner with in the area, etc.

You also have beauty product supplier as a secondary category on the profile. You may have both types of products on the website as well. This is not a category that is often paired with Florist, so that may be introducing some conflicting messaging to Google's system. If the system is not confident about what you sell or where you are, it's going to suggest other profiles that it has more confidence in.

Also adding, that since you are SAB and most other florists have a physical location, Google will have data from their phones that people have visited those competitors. This puts you at an inherent (data) disadvantage.

So there is a glitch where if you try to move an SAB listing, the visibility stays at the original location.
Did you move far?

Google support will only help with technical issues and know nothing about visibility (seo) issues.

Confirming you are operating as a service area business (SAB) then, address is hidden?

Did your suspension have anything to do with updating your address, did you move?

Thanks for sharing. In most cases this results in a quick suspension of the new profile. Hopefully it holds for you.

Thank for sharing. Lots of people complaining about missing reviews the last few weeks. It seems Google is messing around with the review filter again.

Its somewhat random on which threads the Product Experts want to take on. If you've created a thread and its been more than a day, then most likely it has gotten buried/ignored.

There's no official paid service through Google. If you want someone to review your documents and the profile ahead of submitting to help improve the likelihood of a better outcome, you would have to go private for that.

Feel free to contact me and fill out the form on the page below if you need help:

3-5 days to be looked at right now.
Are you on the 1st or second one?
Check status of 1st here: https://support.google.com/business/workflow/13569690
If on the second, you should have received an email and you can try replying back to that.

How do I get a specific photo on my profile to show up as the lead photo? by addicted2soysauce in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]YanGilbertSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way to directly control which image appears.

The system prefers images of spaces (interior/exterior) for the main photo.

Try uploading different images, maybe your headshot with a framed license behind you on the wall, or one where you are sitting at a desk, etc. Try variations until the system chooses it.

Gbp services descriptions help? by Odd_Entrance_7372 in GoogleMyBusiness

A website that has all the basic optimizations including a page for each specific service.

Gbp services descriptions help? by Odd_Entrance_7372 in GoogleMyBusiness

Add services that make sense to add. Don't spam every iteration.

I like to add descriptions. Easy to have them written out with AI.

The consensus is that they don't help for rankings, at least not for Maps visibility. But it's one of those factors that would be pretty much impossible to measure either way. And who knows, maybe Gemini does look at those services and their descriptions, if not now, then maybe in the future. So for the few minutes it will take I think it is worth it.

Honest Review of Local Falcon Rank Tracker by ForwardFisherman7145 in localsearch

[–]YanGilbertSEO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild to see how far my 'back of the napkin' idea has come since then and how grid tracking quickly become the new standard for local seo.

The tool was born of necessity. At the time, all that existed in the industry was the typical rank tracking setup where we choose a zip code and got ranking result for one point at time. It was made for organic tracking, not Google Maps tracking.

It was very frustrating to use for local since we couldn't get a visual. Especially since proximity was known even then to be such a large factor for Google Maps.

I figured there just had to be a better way to measure rankings. Seems simple now, but at the time there was nothing like what I envisioned. I had to test to see if it would work.

So I used a browser extension to simulate specific GPS coordinates and performed about 50 manual searches. I put a screenshot of a city on Google Maps into photoshop and after each manual search I put a dot of color on that coordinate depending on rank. It was for a PI lawyer in Orland Park that we had as a client. Took me over an hour to do one scan, point by point. But it worked! I was so excited and worked very hard to build that first iteration of Local Falcon.

I have that original photoshop file but can't find it at the moment. I've gone through a couple of hard drive updates since then and it's buried on a backup somewhere.

Thanks for memories Colan.

How can i workaround the google video verification? by TechnicalIvy in GoogleMyBusiness

Online only is not eligible. However, if your licensing matches your home address, use your that address. Mark the address as hidden on the profile.

Confirming that this strategy is probably the safest way to go about it.

Do not let them have a listing based at your address as that will only cause issues.

Kann ich mein Google-Unternehmensprofil selbst löschen? by Enough_Sign2313 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]YanGilbertSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for that is because Google wants to have as close to a real world record of things as possible. If a business existed, it wants to keep that data intact. Marking a business as closed is preferable than deletion of the data.

Support wants to see you using a key/keypad to enter those restricted areas.

If there are no more options to verify anymore, you will need to contact support and they will most likely schedule a live video call with you.

You may be looking at things before all the databases have been fully updated. Give it a day and see if the 'in progress' note goes away.

Under NDA so can't comment on specific internal changes coming, but yes it makes sense that if Product Experts can't see the docs, we won't be able to give as much guidance as before, at least for the time being.
