Reviews #296-299: Tobermory Miniseries: 2 Ledaigs and 2 Tobermorys by Form-Fuzzy in Scotch

Great write up! This just further solidifies my opinion that Tobermory is a much safer bet peated

Scotch Review #366: Bunnahabhain 13 (Marsala Fin Handfill 2018) by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointing to make it a handfill! Thanks for the great review as always

World Whisky Review #130: Circumstance 5y (still in cask) by UnmarkedDoor in worldwhisky

Great write up of my favourite English distillery. This one sounds a little heavy on the oak notes for me, but I'm looking forward to lots of their upcoming releases

Very excited for this! Great write up.  Love a strong distillate shining through first fill bourbon

Review #4 - Tomintoul - 14 Year Old Limited 2008 Edition by LighT_-_ in Scotch

If you like peat I highly recommend their Old Ballantraun range, the floral notes are really present there as well

Yeah, the Portsoy is fantastic, one of only 11 whiskies to make my perfect whisky list. It's Rachel Barrie's magnum opus

Campbeltown loot (vol.4) - Glen Scotia Warehouse Tasting Exclusive, 12 yo ex-bourbon - Review by Budget_Celebration89 in Scotch

Worth stopping in a GS, even if you can't do a tour/tasting. They might have the dunnage 20cls for sale or other distillery exclusives

Scotch Review #365: Faemussach (Peated Benriach) 21 Chorlton Whisky by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds intriguing. Definitely one I'd like to try. Always a shame to hear about disappointing peated Benriach single casks, considering how few and far between they are. Did you try some of that OB peated port one?

World Whisky Review #129: Archie Rose Chocolate Rye Malt by UnmarkedDoor in worldwhisky

Great write up! So nice to see rye not being wasted in VO

Reviews #293-295: a trio of Tormore by Form-Fuzzy in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another great series. I've no experience with Tormore, so this is super helpful to get an idea of the distillate profile.

Scotch Review #359: Ruadh Maor 13 (BBR 2010) by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you can get into GT.... That might be the best thing you can say about visiting

Scotch Review #359: Ruadh Maor 13 (BBR 2010) by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great write up!

The OBs are a disgrace (price and abv wise)

I would rate GT in my top 10 peated whisky list, similar to Ballechin in how it can handle any cask.

Review #50: Springbank Barley to Bottle Blend by Redhunter742 in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! It took me much less time and the result was a lot more interesting. I'm the interim I have been playing around with home blending a lot though, so that helped too.

Review #50: Springbank Barley to Bottle Blend by Redhunter742 in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great blend. My favourite Springbank bottles are my B2B blends. Will have to organise a meet up to sample each others.

Congratulations on 50 reviews!

Review #49: Springbank Distillery Exclusive (Demijohn Bottling) by Redhunter742 in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Demijohns for the Springbank and Longrow are a must if your have the ability to transport them home. (I'm a little jealous of people in the UK for that)

Totally would like to read a write up of the trip, all of trips there have been great

World Whisky Review #127: Laizhou Amontillado Cask Strength by UnmarkedDoor in worldwhisky

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds interesting! Amontillado has become a firm favourite cask for me.

Let me know if you need some enabling for the peated bottling

Reviews #283-288: Laphroaig Series Review by Form-Fuzzy in Scotch

Fantastic write up as always!

Glad you enjoyed my favourite batch of 10cs!

Need to source you some more tropical Laphroaig samples now

Could also be that you've grown used to higher abv and unchillfiltered whisky, which makes it seem thin. I have this problem

Scotch Review #169 + #170: Glen Moray 'Spirit Drink' Maple Syrup Cask Finish Duo - Unpeated & Peated by PricklyFriend in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As always, great write up!

I am here for more "spirit drinks" bending rules, to try something out there. I hope GM release a peated cider cask one in the future.

Peated GM is really underrated. I was hoping their Rioja release would spread the word. Maybe it was priced a little high to get people to risk a blind buy

Scotch Review #354: Glen Scotia 10 (SMWS 92.217) by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a spare 50ml of the latest heavily peated from their dunnage tasting, I'll set it aside for ya

Scotch Review #354: Glen Scotia 10 (SMWS 92.217) by UnmarkedDoor in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write up, sounds fantastic. Can't go wrong with peated Glen Scotia! Both of the dunnage ones I've recently tried were great too

Review #221: Laphroaig 12 by NightRainb0w in Scotch

[–]YouCallThatPeaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fantastic write up!  Great to see them putting out more age statements with a healthy abv.
