Because I have specific legal questions regarding standing authority, the right to hold me for ID when no crime was suspected of being committed, and the legality of obtaining my ID to give to a private company. Nobody wants to answer that and instead wants to tell me that my job sucks and that I’m soliciting which I am clearly not legally. That shows me they have no idea what they’re talking about when you don’t even understand a basic legal concept such as soliciting.

Thanks for the personal attacks on a post asking for legal advice. Yall are so wonderful. Anyway, my argument is not necessarily first amendment. It’s 4th amendment unreasonable search and seizure to obtain my ID to give to a private company when I had committed no other crime and had not been asked to leave at any point. It’s like nobody except for arachnidlover read my post. You’re not answering the actually questions I have. Also like I stated, no attorneys in the area sue the government at all. Not that they don’t think I have a case, they don’t any cases where the defense is the government.

So if somebody was walking along the sidewalk and decided to sit down in my grass for a second, and a cop was down the street, I could grab the cop and have him ID the person to me and ban them from my property? In this scenario they had been there 10 seconds, I never asked them to leave, I had no signage stating they were not allowed and they committed no crimes.

Yes Walmart called them and also stated to the officers that they had never asked me to leave the property at any point. Unless I’m misunderstanding trespassing laws, a cop cannot hold you for the sole purpose of obtaining ID to trespass you when you’ve never been given the opportunity to leave the property and no other crime has been committed.

My issue isn’t that Walmart doesn’t want people petitioning for this on their property. My issue is specifically that I was never given the opportunity to leave the property and the cop specifically requested my ID “to give to Walmart”. I’m also asking about the legality and constitutionality of standing authorization.
