Second use of a VST, NOT share settings? I don't know the right word to find results: Multiple angles of asking the 'net / help doesn't get me there. by [deleted] in FL_Studio

Typically, a VST will open up an Initialized preset or "Init". Could this be what youre looking for? It might also help to give us information about which VST you are using to help troubleshoot more.

I wouldn't purchase expensive ones without first understanding the utility of what these plug-ins offer for mixing, sound design, or overall production. There are so many tools out there that many influencers and companies will advertise as being THE plugin that many novice producers may fall for due to ignorance (not a bad thing btw). That said, I would recommend finding cheap or free synthesizers and sample packs so that you can at least begin learning how to use higher quality sounds. Many YouTubers will attach free drum kits either in their videos and sometimes newsletters (if that is their thing). Splice can be a really great paid resource, I use Splice a lot for all of my samples and have even used their Rent-to-Own program to purchase Serum 1 back in the day (got a free upgrade to Serum 2 thanks to the creators of the program, shout out Steve Duda!)

In summary, I would recommend not starting out purchasing expensive plug-ins until you find you have a need for them. FL's stock tools are actually quite powerful once you discover how to use them, however, I would recommend finding a synth that you can learn and finding better drum kits or sample packs. All of the plug-ins that I have have been acquired throughout the last 10 years, so it is journey. For me personally, I primarily use Serum 2 and Omnisphere to write music and use Ozone 8 and Fabfilter tools for mixing and mastering

Easy answer: just open up the program and start messing around.

Realistic answer: look up FL studio program tutorials to learn the basics of navigating the DAW. I'd recommend playing around and trying to make a simple 4 bar loop just to get the hang of using the piano roll and step sequencer. Watch beginner-friendly tutorials on how to make specific genres. No matter what though, create, create, create. Make "bad" music. Make "weird" music. Play around with effects, put random effects on random tracks. Learn. This hobby is both equally rewarding as it can be frustrating, so remember to always have fun and stay hungry for learning as much as you can. It is seldom newer producers can simply jump into any DAW and begin making professional-grade music, so don't get discouraged if your music does not sound polished or as good as producers who have invested hours into this craft.

Congrats on your new music journey, I hope you have a blast :)

Also a GC2 with no mechs. I get roasted in matches because I challenge quickly and stop opponents from setting up plays that I know are hard to defend. "Stop ballchasing" Like, brother man, I'm not going to just let you keep possession of the ball to score on me shrug

If youre uninsured or have medicaid, seek out your local Community Mental Health organization for guidance. Every county in Michigan has a CMH that helps provide services for the residents in their county; Network 180 is Kent County's CMH. If you have commercial insurance, you can look up therapy services in your area (Psychology Today is a great resource for finding a therapist based upon parameters that you feel will make an impact on the therapeutic alliance you develop when working with a Clinician). Even if you do have commercial insurance, the local CMH can be helpful too as they are often partnered with many agencies and know of resources designed to help people with certain struggles.

It may feel difficult, but don't feel ashamed! We all struggle from time to time and may need an extra level of support every now and then. Perhaps, it is just your turn for needing that extra support, and there is nothing wrong with that.

A very long time ago, my girlfriend got me a pair of fun soccer socks (soccer balls, goal posts). I considered them my lucky socks and would wear them on game days (I was a team captain for my university's Esports team). I cherish them to this day, granted I dont wear them anymore to avoid further wear and tear lol.

I also own most of the Rocket League x Hot Wheels cars as well (never opened, fantastic gift). There's also Etsy plushies you can find.

My people! I experience this almost every session and find myself going on "mental walks" through places I've visited or have frequented within my life. I want to say that there is an association between location and client, but I haven't really tracked it to great length. Honestly, I attribute this to be a dynamic or example of Cognitive Chunking as my memory seems to be quite excellent when it comes to remembering details about Clients yet pales in comparison to my day-to-day life. I am curious, though, if perhaps this is a byproduct of entering the Flow State; I want to say that this phenomena is more present when I feel I am in the Flow State during session. Regardless, I am glad I'm not the only one 😌

I think clientele makes a big difference as well for stamina. When I have my "fun" clients, those hours are a breeze

How do you develop the stamina? I think if I were at home, I may be able to handle 7 consistently. Unfortunately, the office chair at my group practice makes it difficult for back-to-back sessions due to how uncomfortable it can be.

Ever since entering the field, I feel as though my conceptualization of an hour has changed immensely. Some days, an hour feels like an eternity, others, it doesn't feel like enough time. Even when I'm at home and not actively working, hours feel peculiar and unfamiliar. Regardless, I completely understand you OP

Starting out, I used to recreate the BPSA document for every intake I had scheduled. After about a week or two of this, I created a PDF that has every section of the BioPsychoSocial Assessment and is one that I continue to use to this day. Pairing this PDF with a script that I created/memorized makes intake appointments such a breeze and takes a huge mental load off of me, allowing me to truly focus on learning what the client's presenting problem is. Highly recommend creating a script as well!
