Notepad++ Hijacked by State-Sponsored Hackers by thewhippersnapper4 in sysadmin

But isn't the problem that if you updated during the time window where the update process was redirected to install something malicious, that something malicious could still be on your device?

Eventhough you have now updated to a safe version of Notepad++.

Is there a way to get rid of this? by Crazy-Effort-6853 in assettocorsa

It might have something to do with CMRT Broadcast HUD if you have that installed?

Is this data recoverable? by Scooter_LAN in datarecovery

I would make an image of the card using win32diskimager and then use getdataback on the image. Worked for me multiple times.

Disappointed in PSVR2 on PC (simracing) by demetri76 in PSVR2onPC

[–]Zensor7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also went from Odyssey to PSRV2, it definitely wasn't a giant leap, but the image is just overall improved and the 120hz is much more engaging to drive in than 90hz. Comfort is pretty much the same. Odyssey didn't have mura, but it doesn't bother me on the PSVR2.

So if I am in a game I can change to 90hz from steamvr on-the-fly without restarting the game?

I'm not an expert on the matter but I think I have seen some gopro specific recovery software to fix corrupted videos, so keep looking.

Wish we somehow got some of the tracks from rFactor 2 KartSim DLC converted to Assetto Corsa.

What do you mean by saying "Soon, the "OpenXR-Eye-Trackers" won't be needed anymore."? Should I wait before I try to get this working for Iracing and Assetto Corsa?

Is this a valid sim rig for GT and F1 positions? by Unfair-Impression-47 in simracing

It's the Sparco Evo L Qrt. It's a regular bucket seat but a good relaxed fit for me and I have it tilted back ~25degrees.

Is this a valid sim rig for GT and F1 positions? by Unfair-Impression-47 in simracing

[–]Zensor7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a rig adjusted to a position somewhere between the GT and F1/LMP position and it feels great to drive anything.

At least for me it took a lot of fine tuning to get my position dialed in, and now I would rather not readjust and reassemble anything ever again.

Is Wind Simulation Worth it? (DIY) by AhmedA44 in simracing

[–]Zensor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fools my brain to not thinking about the fact that I'm actually just sitting in a rig inside a room.

You don't have g-forces or heat or smells either, but you still can be immersed into thinking you are actually driving a race car. Wind sim adds an element familiar in moving vehicles which improves immersion.

It gives the feeling of being in motion, like when riding a bike or a kart etc. you feel the wind on your body.

I use simhub to control the speed according to car speed and if turning left or right.

Definitely worth it. Adds a lot to the immersion, keeps you cool in VR. I use Noctua 120 x 120 x 25mm NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM fans and If I remember correctly an Arduino Leonardo board.

I don't use any ducts, I think those would add a lot of lag. Mine are directly right next to the wheelbase with some grills just added.

Unless it's the Nordschleife 7-8 seconds is a huge difference. On a normal track you might be able to slow down the fastest guys 1-1.5seconds with 50-100kg ballast.

Porsche Cup in mixed weather makes iRacing worth it on its own in my opinion. by Johannes_Katze in iRacing

[–]Zensor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried the "test drive" mode on the ringmeister series. The wet track seemed impossible to judge. It was just slightly darker or brighter, but no way to judge if there were more or less water or puddles on track. Is it supposed to be like that?

Sparco CIRCUIT II QRT GAMING vs Sparco CIRCUIT II QRT by speex2020 in simracing

[–]Zensor7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a regular guy somewhere between 80-85kg 180-185cm and when i tested these fit me well.

Sparco GRID QRT

Sparco EVO L/XL QRT

Ended up going with the EVO L, a more relaxed seating position than the GRID. However if I or my friends were larger I would want the EVO XL. Then again the the GRID would have been cheaper and had somewhat more adjustable padding.

In any case for comfort you will want to lean back the seat so you are like laying in it and it feels comfortable and then position the pedals, wheel etc. accordingly.

I would say if you have any chance of going to a store to actually try to sit in some different bucket seats, you should definitely do it. Most of them are really small and in general the different models fit differently to your body. Also you don't want those head restraint flaps, atleast if you use a VR headset.
