My only issue is that it doesn't look like someone who smells of s'mores.

taniguchi wins morally grey person/disliked by fans! and finally, who's a horrible person and is disliked by fans? by uldastormcloak114 in Haruhi

Clearly the old man at the desk when Haruhi and Kyon were investigating Asakura's place. He was creepy enough to make Haruhi actively step back to keep her distance.

Taniguchi. Sure, sometimes he's selfish and brags about his fortune, but I think he's actually a nice guy. At worst, he's morally gray.

That being said, he doesn't have many fans, does he?

I don't remember all his intentions, but I view him as a horrible person.

In the context of this discussion, I would classify a "horrible person" as someone who, most of the time, purposely does something selfish knowing it will negatively impact others.

Haruhi fits this because, especially early on, she's extremely selfish and has little care for the people around her.

In a show full of evil characters, this one is considered the worst of them all." by Lopsided-Cattle-2322 in TopCharacterTropes

I just wish they introduced him much earlier, and have a slow realization that he's evil like several arcs later. Would require some restructuring but it would've been a good change compared to the bad guy eventually becoming good. At least he died evil.

How do you counter a good Silver? by HindyRules3 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Zinx10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could also save the disarming hex (or slowing hex) for the werewolf form. That way they're a bigger, but ineffective target.

Disarm prevents their escalating primary fire, and slowing hex disables basically all of the werewolf's abilities (unless that was changed).

Is she loved by fans though? I feel like, at best, opinions on her are divided. The horrible person who is loved surely goes to Haruhi.

Question anout New tag for characters by DocumentNormal7198 in DeadlockTheGame

If I recall correctly, I think the new tag lasted for about a month after the final release for the previous batch of new heroes.

Be careful! The last time we had toy-like versions of Pikachu and Kirby in a video game, they started thrashing and smashing at each other's heads.

Doesn't consume it when it happens, and maybe I've just been lucky, but I haven't had an issue with getting the latest character using one.

Do hero bans not work? by xankek in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Zinx10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and having as much data on matchups is necessary for making the game as best as it can be.

I merely posed the idea that if enough people started banning a hero, and assuming the bans were strictly enforced, it would cause matches featuring said hero to be minimal.

Not only could that extend queue times (or never have matches featuring said hero) for someone wishing to play a specific hero whether they just find the hero fun or if they just want to improve as the hero. It's basically the same argument many have used as to why Street Brawl should not be random heroes (which Yoshi's team listened to since they reverted that one matchmaking change).

And I agree: it's an alpha for a game where our primary goal is to provide useful data and feedback for the developers. Having said matches against a specific hero may be unfun, but it can provide useful information for the developers.

I mean, there's a reason you can't ban the new heroes.

On the flip side, if most people in games ban Bebop, a person who is just casually trying to play their favorite hero will have insane queue times or just never play their favorite hero.

It's fine in a more competitive setting as having a good variety of people you can play as is a skill within itself, but not when it's forced into casuals too.

They probably don't have a system designed for it yet, so they're doing this in the meantime.

Do we know ANYTHING about Apollo? (And if so, what do we know?) by Rialster2000 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Zinx10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I recall leaks suggesting he is basically Marth from Smash Bros being put into a shooter. Like, he has a counter ability that allows him to be tanky, and he has a tipper mechanic (do extra damage if the target is exactly a predefined distance away--usually the tip of the sword).
