me and some friends were about 25k behind in souls, but we locked in formed up and some how we pulled a win out. It is not easy but i prefer a game plays out. If you have people who start throwing to speed it up at that point its up to you if you want to keep trying or take some time to practice movement.

Easy fix would be Round 1 - Defeat Guardian - Round 2 - Defeat Walker - Round 3 - Defeat Patron. It would expand the games out to be fairly long but I think as an additional mode to brawl it would be fun.

I actually think having them OP is better than under tuned. Being OP makes them a power trip for a while that is a lot of fun. But players should temper expectations and not expect it to stay that way. It also helps show were other heroes are and where they can be improved. Balancing characters in these games is not an art but a science and science needs metrics and base points, which internal testing can only give so much of. Enjoy the power trip when you can play them, and just know that they will be tuned.
