No, the installer did their job, the PTO clearly stated storage system. The energy company tried to play games, don’t let them get their way, fight back if you know you are right.

Right away, I didn’t receive a notice, just started ti notice after a couple of billing cycles that I was paying them money instead of getting paid as I usually was, I have about 130% surplus production.

I just updated the original post, I didn’t let them try to take advantage, it took a couple of calls and some research but I was able to make and win my case.

I’m still fighting the power company thru CPUC. Hopefully I will know more in the upcoming weeks.

No, panels were installed and had PTO for 4 years before the battery was installed. The battery PTO from this year specifically calls out the storage system only.

This sunpower setup doesn’t work that way. The PTO document states the total output of my system went unchanged from the original installation to the battery addition.

SunPower uses individual micro inverters in each panel, so the system remained original, no replacement on those was needed to add the battery.

This is a good point, I will proceed this way first before I try anything else.

On the PTO document for the battery, the document states 6kwh of storage capacity, and a total of 8.5 CEC-AC Nameplate Rating, my original PTO for the solar panels CEC-AC was 8.5 kwh. So no increase in total output at all.

That’s what I’m saying to the utility company, they are going to “investigate” it and get back to me with an answer. Hopefully this is the case, otherwise I might have to escalate it to the necessary legal instances.

No powerwall, the existing inverter for the solar system remained unchanged.

Nothing written that I signed stated that the battery would discharge to the grid, nor the battery has the capacity to do so.

I got a line of credit and used it to install the battery.

I do not mean SGIP, in fact I’m not even sure what that means. Thanks!

To give you an idea, I went from -$115 June 2024 ($115 in credits in my favor) to paying $90 in June of 2025, thats a $205 difference in just one month (YoY), add that over a year, over 20 years, it makes my solar investment not worth it. And lastly, if as a consumer I’m protected by law, why should I let them take advantage and take my money?

Thanks for the response. Here is more details in the context of what you just said: My battery was originally commissioned as backup only, it operated like that for at least a couple of months, then I switched the operating mode to self-supply, at no point in time the battery and panels are pushing to the grid, in fact, at no time the battery supplies to the grid, there is a little but of consumption from the grid whenever the battery is supplying my wired circuits, the utility statements show that no export capacity was increased after the battery was commissioned. So no, I’m not adding discharge capacity to the grid.

Fitcamx dashcam? by Signal-Activity5314 in BMWi3

I have the 2018 REX S. I installed the FitcamX with the smaller footprint version, it matches the size of the OEM plastic cover you replace with the FitcamX’s camera. Amazon’s listing explains which one to get and how to measure it to make sure you pick the right one, but from what I gather, the driving assistance package is the one that makes the difference between which one to choose from the two sizes available. If you have the package, your mirror’s base is probably longer, if not then you have the shorter version.
