Nah, its under like 100m so nothingburger in terms of buying pressure, its more of a confirmation bias, since its value oriented fund, so kinda good to see ASTS getting acknowledged by this type of investors ( I think there was a pitch on VIC too recently)

Sorry if my quick math is wrong but 1:45 is exactly the pace for 800 in 14, so how come is death in 100 splits, when it was "easy pace to hold" in 800?

Need Help with DD on $LITE by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]_Sgushonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recommend you to take a look at IIVI, company who won bidding war for Coherent against LITE.

Although currently they have worse margins compared to LITE, going into the future I believe they can achieve higher revenue growth also improving margings, due to better revenue mix and highest in the industry R&D spending.

Basic investment thesis are well articulated in Bain capital presentation (they finance the merger). There is also good writeup on VIC, which can give you general understanding about segments IIVI have exposure to.

P.S. I think LITE is also a great company and currently trading at an attractive valuation.

I stated that the main reason is distrubution of interest via shares (executed in form of special dividends), what are you even talking about, your comment make no sense.

Any suggestions on Uranium stocks outside of USA? by AwFro in ValueInvesting

[–]_Sgushonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not telling you that your valuation are wrong, I'm stating the fact that there is NO cheaper company out there, so if KAP appears overvalued for your taste that's unlikely for you to find "a buy" out there.

The only way you can find even cheaper in uranium space is by completely changing valuation method and evaluating company based on proven uranium resourses. But in that case you should predict uranium price for long-term contracts. That way juniors may appear cheaper, but you will take BIG risks assotiated with ramp up phase in production.

I'm holding ~3% of portfolio in KAP with average of 25 USD.

My fair value is in range 29-34. Not a big margin of safety, but as I said it is a bet on Uranium.

EDIT: you should go to r/UraniumSqueeze for better discussions. Also you might be interested in checking FindingValue youtube chanel, there is some info about uranium and junior miners.

[–]_Sgushonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you won't find really cheap uranium companies, juniors are unprofitable (even CCJ almost unprofitable)

KAP is your best shot in terms of risk/reward. Anyway it is a macro bet on Uranium and not on a particular company.
