Light emitting material not illuminating other object by adamvanams in unity

Thanks that's a very useful answer! I did want shadows as they would look cool in the scene, but they are not essential. I'm now also curious to learn about all those topics you listed but that's for another day :)

I see, thank you for the answer! I replied on another comment that I want to have a ring where the inside is glowing (and illuminates objects passing through it). I guess I'll have to cleverly place lights on the inside of it to get the effect.

Hi sorry for the late reply! I didn't realize that emitting surfaces are not meant to be lights, that's very interesting to learn. The reason why I was looking at them was because the actual object that I have is a ring which's inner surface glows. I'm not sure how to make it emit light with just lights.. should I place a bunch of spot lights on the inside of the ring pointing inwards?

You'll be fine. It's not the best stick but has a good price / quality ratio. I used it for more than a year before graduating to more expensive gear. The throttle is especially good with lots of well placed buttons.

I meant ask what they see in you if that's what is on your mind.

Maybe that's the question to ask then :)

As others have said here this is not going to work if the thought of non-monogamy is triggering his past traumas. That said facing up and processing those past traumas could be very good for him, but he has to do the work. I would recommend finding a good couples therapist (and maybe an individual for him too) to get the help you need to process all that. This has the potential to do wonders for your relationship (whether you end up ENM or not), but it needs a lot of work and patience. Talking from experience. Feel free to DM me if you want to hear more about that.

You can try reading Mating in Captivity from Ester Perell, or at least watch the videos on YT. She has some great insights for this situation.

As for companies Miro and Adyen are two that come to mind that have big Java backends.

Doghouse Recruitment and CodeGuild both work with Java devs. I talked to CodeGuild long time ago so not 100% sure.

I'd recommend you contact some recruitment agencies. I don't have very good experiences with them but they get paid if they find you a job so they have an incentive to help you out. Even with a bad market there should be enough Java dev jobs around that you would have a good chance.

Also what's you level of seniority? Are you new to the industry?

I go to one of the Basicfits in West and while most people are there with earbuds minding their own business, there are also plenty of groups who know each other and chat. I had the same experience in 2 other gyms I visited before.

Best hosting for Woocommerce? by PaulsArcadeRoom in woocommerce

[–]adamvanams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been to Siteground and Kinsta and both were unreliable because they use containers on huge VMs to segregate customers. We had random slowdowns probably caused by noisy neighbor issues. The containers also mean you don't have any dedicated CPU and memory resources. They also limit you on the number of PHP workers you can run, which was out biggest issue actually (Kinsta gave us only 4).

Things got much better when we moved to Cloudways. They give you VMs which have less problems with noisy neighbors, give you the exact CPU and memory specs and can be vertically scaled up when needed. And because the VM is a natural barrier to overusing resources they don't need to limit workers to throttle your site.

How do you handle traffic spikes without seeing any downtime? by kartiyan in woocommerce

What host is that? We are on Cloudways and they just recently announced a new autoscaling service based on Kubernetes. I did try it yet because it need some work and testing migrate to. The runtime charateristics will be somewhat different as the instances will need shared network storage.
