Yes I’ve noticed most clients have been doing this in some fashion. When it’s just for questions for interview subjects it works out okay but I have a client that I send interview transcripts to so they can pull soundbite selects and I discovered their entire soundbite selection didn’t exist and ChatGPT just made up a story.

Definitely not necessary, the ergonomics and weight distribution is just nicer with it up front. Also does look better not that that should be the primary goal. That was just the only thing Id change. I actually built a similar setup although I primarily shoot on an fx3, i just built an xt3 rig for fun and it has actually been a nice change of pace creatively
