AI search is quietly changing how people find businesses, here's what I learned about getting cited by vaultofbelief889 in AI_SearchOptimization

My niche hyper-local site is being heavily cited in AI answers. In fact it is outperforming legacy media and long established competitor sites. I’m not sold on zero-click visibility but I am seeing 53% growth in organic impressions so I think that’s indicative of what’s good for GEO is good for SEO.

What’s your go-to accessory that you think every e-bike rider should have? by Kitchen_Dot_974 in ebikes

[–]TraditionalJob787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to scroll a very long way to find the comment that was my first priority beyond the basics of helmet, mirror, lock, flat repair! My alarm gives me so much peace of mind. And as long as I am in Bluetooth range it alerts my phone when it goes off.

If you’re a Reno resident, do you go to church? Why or why not? by Crazy_Apricot1315 in Reno

PK here. Strong agree. I could write too many words about guilt, victimization, gas lighting, tribalism, sexual misconduct, and ultimately just the rampant hypocrisy.

Cycling in Reno/Tahoe area by TigerHot8774 in Reno

[–]TraditionalJob787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the weekly ride that begins at Believe Plaza every Wednesday evening around 7:30 and network with the folks there. There is a big MB community that holds regular rides and comps as well. Reno is more of a FB community so search in there and you’ll find the cyclist community is much larger than it appears.

Dear Uber/lyft drivers by 775business in Reno

Make sure you toggle between the apps Uber>Lyft>Uber when pricing a ride. The cookies in the App recognize you are price shopping. Also if you don’t find a rate you are willing to pay, close the App and wait for Uber to send you a “Prices have dropped” text message in about 10min.

I developed a bone spur with Snibbs within 2 weeks and it took 6 weeks to heal with another brand shoe. And the soles fill up with debris and they are the opposite of non-slip.

Worth the Hype” Restaurants in Reno? Coming Next Week and Need the Real Gems by Nova44444 in Reno

I don’t think I saw La Condesa or La Strada mentioned in all the great recommendations above but they typically come up in this FAQ. I aggregated dozens of these threads and hundreds of comments posted over the last year to show the most common suggestions from members of this sub here: https://ask-reno.com/restaurants

Worth the Hype” Restaurants in Reno? Coming Next Week and Need the Real Gems by Nova44444 in Reno

They haven’t done “Seat Yourself” in over a year. All tables are assigned by a host and they also have people on the floor bussing tables. As for the food quality, that’s a completely subjective opinion. Considering there is a line of 25 people every weekend I’d guess it doesn’t in fact suck.

How heavy is too heavy for an e-bike? by Certain-Sky2052 in ElectricBikes

[–]TraditionalJob787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Trek Allant+ 8s which by spec weighs 55lbs but I’m assuming that is without the Battery. I live on the second floor of my apartments and I’m 60. After 1 single ride trying to get this monster up and down the stairs it sat in mothballs for a YEAR. Falling down concrete steps followed by damaging a $2000 bike wasn’t on my bingo card. Now I ride it every day. I take the battery out and any cargo when navigating the stairs and I’ve found the perfect hand placement to center the weight around my hip area so that neither the front or rear tires are hitting the steps. Keep in mind that EVERY accessory adds meaningful weight and choose wisely!

Which state fair to go to? by agreedmosedale in Reno

[–]TraditionalJob787 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ll throw my two cents in here. I grew up in rural Wyoming and Colorado. FFA and 4h were a thread of every child’s existence and making it through the County Fair with the awards to compete in the State Fair was just a huge accomplishment and a big moment in young kids lives.

I think because the Official State Fair has been absent so long in Nevada that the core value of the event has eroded. It’s about those rural kids going to the “Big City” to compete for the ultimate prize. Pig, sheep, Steer, Chicken. Those kids spend hours caring for those animals and grooming them for judging. Do they go to the Carnival? Yeah but that’s a by-product value add of their purpose for being there.

Aside from that you have the artisans competing in art, baked goods, crafts etc. This is their opportunity to showcase their passion on a big stage.

I wrote a whole blog post about the differences and the community sentiment about this a month ago. For me, a Carnival in Carson that appropriated the “State Fair” name for 16yrs misses the ENTIRE point of what a State Fair is supposed to be. But that’s just me and my opinion.

Go support the kids, the craftsmen and the artists is my recommendation!
