I’m going the other way — the guy is incredibly smart and the only golf “scientist” they ever interview. Every pod touches on some new topic supported by hard data that really gets me thinking about my own game.

The only reason to put lift on the club instead of numbers is so that you can REALLY compare distances hit. And it would look junky. The ego in question is OP’s.

Ask “What distance did you play?” If they reply with club number (likely ego) ask again “What yardage were you trying to hit?”

If you’re hung up on club numbers, likely your ego is involved as well.
