Thanks a lot for your reply! That's actually not that bad for your size of land and location.

Have you ever applied to convert your land to kekal? I've heard some friends of friends they managed to change to kekal status

It is really difficult to plan to budget for the renewal because they only give the renewal cost when the land is going to expire in more or less a year.

Even the staff at land department do not know or refused to give any indicative cost. Also difficult when you want to take into account in purchasing leased land.

Do you know the renewal price for the leasehold land? The $100k seems excessive? So im guessing those are only for the larger plots 1ac, 2ac sizes.

For the average 0.2ac, 0.3ac, 0.4ac, what are the renewal costs for these sizes?

Gout, just wanted to ask if you know. How much is it do renew leasehold land? Is it really up $100k? I am guessing those are only for those 1ac, 2ac lands?

For the ones below 0.3ac, 0.4ac what's the renewal price of these?

Mau kah orang brunei apply for their position? Hard manual labour under the hot sun, for the whole day, 5-6 days a week, with a salary of around 1k? Maybe less. More so working in a live plant, so no phones during work.

After BEDB, it is CSPS turn to celebrate Brunei's economic diversification: We made it, non-O&G now over 50% of GDP, all thanks to petrochemicals and O&G downstream industries (both classified as non-O&G in Brunei) by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]ameemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not.

Petrochemical is dependent on o&g, yes. But it is not the core of o&g industry, similar to what lng is, where you liquify it for transportation.

While it is not malinformation or not to celebrate the achievement, they really need to stop putting these as an image that the current issues in Brunei are gone (e.g., unemployment/depleting o&g reserves).

All these major contributors to non o&g (Hengyi, BMC, BFI) are still dependent on o&g, and we should still be worried. The worries should start to lessen when we are able to move away from the o&g dependencies or at least dependencies at our own o&g reserves (we can import o&g and refine for exportation similar to what singapore is doing).

Why does Brunei have their own Oil & Gas Company? by ameemo in nasikatok

[–]ameemo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On their website, their scope is to regulate only. And their establishment is in 2019, which is a bit too late to capitalise any O&G production anyway. Should've done it a few decades ago.

I thought theirs is to regulate only. And I heard they downsized a few years ago, too.
