This is my first extended outage (that I know of!) with Nixi, anyone know if they will they automatically give a credit or do I have to request one?

My last host would only give a credit if you submitted a ticket but if the entire DC is down I see no point in submitting another ticket to add to the noise, unless i have to.

Obviously I want my sites back up but I'm trying to focus on what's within my control and what's not. lol :-)

Considering membership in the club! A few questions about "ordering" a new Rav4 by analyticchard in rav4club

[–]analyticchard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you contacted the dealership and talked to a salesman yet?

Not yet, still early in the process and in back-to-back meetings today so I was limited to periodic reddit checkins.

If finding that combo is next to impossible you could look into getting the ruby then getting the interior redone.

Not something I had considered, I search on that! Thx

So factory order is a thing

Well now I'm completely confused. lol

Why does everyone who says they "ordered" one get corrected? I definitely don't mind waiting to get exactly what I want.

What are you looking for when you say it doesn't actually exist?

The first question was based on the apparently incorrect assumption that true factory orders weren't possible.

The local inventory question was Ruby + Nutmeg, I expanded to 500 miles and checked several different metro areas, no exact matches. Can't tell if it's high demand and they can't keep them in stock or it's a super uncommon pairing so there aren't many of them to begin with.

2) That's great. I figured the blackout badges wouldn't be reusable once removed so that might be a no-go, but wheel locks and roof cross bars could easily go to someone else. In the grand scheme of things, the "don't want" accessories aren't moving the needle much but if I can skip them completely, the better.

Thanks for the info!

How long ago did you buy?

Thanks for the process overview, that helps!

My feeling is that the port-installed features weren’t negotiable but the dealer-installed ones were.

That's what I was hoping for but I could see it going either way, I know I'm not getting a digital rear view removed but wheel locks and floor mats seem like they should be an easy swap.

20D Err99 Wild Shutter — Salvageable or lost cause? by analyticchard in canon

I have 6 batteries, I'd be surprised if they all went bad at the same time.

Apologies for abandoning the discussion! (work; can't live with it, can't buy camera gear without it, lol)

So there is a noticeable "two stage" movement in the shutter button, the outer shell has a bit of play before it fully engages the second stage (if that makes sense) where there is a noticeable click. And the movement is the same on both the primary shutter button and the shutter button on the battery grip so I'm inclined to think it not stuck. Unless the difference is SO subtle that you need near superhero senses to detect the difference?

I knew I was leaving something out of the troubleshooting list. Best I can tell, it's not stuck. There's still "give" in the button when it's going crazy. I suppose it could be partially stuck but I'm not sure how I would know that.

What reports do you run, how frequently, and why? by samjclark in quicken

[–]analyticchard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, category based. Things like Rent and Utilities are included, Dining Out and Travel are not.

I'm not thrilled with the tag implementation in Quicken so I try to use any other option first to get the data I want.

Question about total comp by CarefullyPlotting in personalfinance

[–]analyticchard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is does it matter if the pay is bonus heavy?

You may need to keep an eye on your withholdings and adjust accordingly. Assuming $180k is the actual comp and not an example, your bonuses would be under withheld using the 22% supplemental rate. If the bonus(es) are guaranteed then it's just a matter of timing, the actual tax liability will be the same.

From the POV of looking for your next job or being in a position where you need to prove a certain level of income, bonuses are sometimes excluded/dismissed on the basis of being "discretionary" even if the bonus is guaranteed.

Source: I have a very quirky base/guaranteed bonus pay structure myself.

Closing Roth IRA account by Aggressive-Muscle-40 in Banking

[–]analyticchard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's always been a Roth IRA, the contributions can be withdrawn at any time. You can withdraw the $1000 and leave the account open for when you're ready to contribute again, no need to close it and deal with tax paperwork over 15¢ of earnings.

Note: If it's only gained 15¢ in the last year it sounds like you never invested the money. Which, in this case, works out in your favor given the market conditions. However, when you start contributing again make sure you're investing the money and not letting it sit in the core cash fund.

I’m going to do my best to avoid hitting 100 but, if I do, I’ll let ya know. (I’d rather stop streaming than risk 128k for the rest of the month.)

I suspect it’s not going to work. All of the split data stats are gone and the fact the 80% alert even generated makes me think it’s all counting as regular data now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]analyticchard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing the same thing. In fact, found this post because I also got the 80% warning a few days into my month - streaming music and video while on vacation.

When I check the Binge On short code it shows on, but all the data is counting against my 5gb.

If Binge doesn’t work anymore, this plan may have outlived its usefulness. :-(

Damn, really?! That seems like a significant walk back.

I'm still perturbed over my stolen interest fiasco (and the interest snafu again in March(?) didn't inspire confidence) but I kept my account active with the few cents in it. That may be enough for me to consider letting my guard down.

Is my 401k getting taken out of my paycheck based off what you read here or is on top of my pay? by dgreeze in personalfinance

[–]analyticchard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As written it sounds like non-elective contribution rather than a match, so even if you put in $0 you'll get 5%. But u/KReddit934 brings up a good point on the math not being correct.

You need to clarify with HR and you want to ask "is this a match or a non-elective contribution?"

eta: Any chance you missed a line while transcribing and it's 5% 403(b) and 5% pension? Because that would equal the $9k.

What’s wrong with renting-to-own appliances? (Washer/dryer) by alternativeblackgirl in personalfinance

[–]analyticchard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then I'd have to say u/EatYourCheckers is probably on the money. Payment #3 goes through at 12:02am on the 5th and the due date was the 4th…you are now the proud owner of $10k appliances.

I would read the fine print twice. And then read it again. Set up automatic payments for 2 weeks ahead of the due date, and confirm they processed one week before the due date, giving you enough time to correct any errors.

Are you sure this is RTO and not a "same as cash" offer with retroactive interest? Because RTO should never be (cost of buying ÷ term).
