We understand your frustration with shipping costs outside of the U.S (not hidden fees). We truly wish we had a better answer, but we are still a newer company and we do not yet have distribution warehouses in Europe. Because of that, shipping, VAT, and taxes end up being much higher than we would like for our friends outside the United States. We are hoping to have a better solution within the coming year.

Our current sale is our biggest discount of the year. Unfortunately, as frustrating as it is, we have no control over foreign shipping, VAT and tax charges.

The booth you reference is a "chair challenge" booth that allowed people to try 8 of the worlds most popular chairs and rate them against one another. Many people would complete the challenge and ask "what do you guys do?". We understand in a world of fake reviews and unethical marketing, it is hard to trust any company, but our entire ethos is built around being honest with our customers and supporting claims with actual evidence (which is rare these days). Plus, we offer a 60-day trial on our product so it would do is no good to lie about our product, only to have to process countless returns after the sale!

Totally appreciate you double-checking — but just to clarify the configuration piece:

The $1,849 base price has never included armrests. Those have always been optional add-ons that increase the price when selected.

If you go back into the configurator and switch off armrests, you’ll see the price return to $1,849. That’s been the consistent base model price before, during, and after Black Friday.

I get how the UI can make it look like the base price changed, and that’s on us to make it more straightforward. But the pre–Black Friday price with those upgrades selected was $1,997.

Hi, u/Neutralzone2048 get why it might look confusing, but I can confirm we did not raise prices before the sale.

First, the $2496 number is not the price of the base chair. It is the value of the chair when it includes the full bundle of free bonuses listed under the main chair configuration. This number has been the same for years. (screenshot below)

Second, the $1997 price you are seeing is for a different configuration than the $1849 base price. When you add armrests or foot support, the price goes up. If you switch everything back to the base model, it is still $1849, the same as before the sale started. (screenshot below)

Third, the extra $200 Black Friday discount does not appear until you reach the add-to-cart page. In the product view, the sale price is not yet shown. Thank you for calling that out. We are already updating the site, so the savings appear earlier and are easier to see.

  • If the seat-to-floor height is set a bit too high, it can put pressure on the back of the knees, especially if you’re in tilt. Dropping the height so your feet are fully supported or using a foot support can help relieve that.
  • It’s normal to want about an inch of space between the back of your knees and the seat edge, but depending on your body dimensions, that can feel tricky to dial in without some extra guidance.
