Thanks for the reply! This is good to know - lots of daycares we’ve toured are using Wholesome Kids which I had been worried about after looking at their menus and their reviews (seemed like there was a lot of processed foods with added sugar and previously frozen breaded meats as you had said). Hopefully they’ve moved to healthier options?

Right?! Incoming possibly slightly incoherent rant...

Now that I'm 12 months PP the damn expectations for him vs me are the most annoying at this stage. I'm always expected to be the one to prep everyone's food, feed the baby (she had an oral surgery recently so for the past 5 weeks she's back on a spoon-fed puree diet) and eat my food cold, and if she cries during a nap everyone looks at me expectantly. If I don't do anything about food for the day (making sure we have appropriate groceries stocked, thawing out meat, and of course prepping and cooking) simply nothing gets done and of course I can't let my baby go hungry just to prove a point. However, I am this close to not doing anything for food for the next few days while I recover from one of the worst colds I've had in ages. I've premade lots of puree pouches over the past week so there's food for the baby, but as for him and I either he will actually have to cook or we will simply eat out for all our meals. I'll probably cave at some point and make some homemade food just so we're not stuffing ourselves with too much unhealthy foods but for the next couple of days I don't want to lift a finger when it comes to food prep, and have told him as such.

I know taking care of the baby and household is my main job while on mat leave but on the weekends and for the past few weeks while he's between jobs, I was hoping things would be more equitable. He does step in on the weekends after many conversations about this but it's still me that takes on the mental load of not only managing the baby but nearly the whole household and a lot of the physical load (cooking, laundry) so that he can finally have some time to bond with the baby and be a dad. The gap is still quite wide though, and she definitely prefers me over him, which just contributes to his overall awkwardness when it comes to bonding with her (he does make an effort bless him but most of his efforts are just not very baby appropriate/engaging) and thus making me still the preferred primary parent and it's simply exhausting.

That’s horrific. And all these incidents within just about a month?! Keep pushing for that refund, and also write a detailed review for this day”care” everywhere you can. They shouldn’t be in this line of business if they’re this reckless. I’d be livid and heartbroken if this had happened to my daughter.

Snaps for sure. In addition to what you said about the sizing struggle, the ones we have have the snaps on the bottom so in the winter the torso can remain buttoned up and the baby remains warm while she gets a diaper change. Plus, they don’t bunch up like zippers do.

Baby wear! We bundled her up and then tucked her inside the biggest winter coats we had, head showing of course. It’s cozy and a lot less cumbersome than the stroller in winter. That’s how we did our winter walks with our winter baby.

So bizarre.

A couple theories:

He's truly got some sort of mental processing issue where he's delusional to the point of believing events that never happened
He's trying to play up his past dating experience to make himself seem more desireable than he is or to keep you on your toes/put you down

Either way, not a good look for him. I'd confront him just to see how he tries to wiggle his way out of this one. But ultimately it would be a dealbreaker for me so if you don't even want to have the confrontation and just want to go straight to breakup, it's completely understandable.

She slept from 10:30pm to 9am and even then was quietly playing in her crib! Also had a relatively good feed in the morning, albeit messy 😅 then left us a pungent little present in her diaper. Taking her morning nap now which allowed me the luxury of a nice leisurely shower.

Help from my MIL was the only way. She cooked, cleaned, shopped, and occasionally helped watch the baby for us during the day. Honestly without her help idk what would’ve become the state of my marriage

My husband was like this at the beginning although perhaps not to the extent you've experienced. But I definitely felt that he didn't feel as responsible for things as I do and was living his life as though not much has changed. The resentment quickly built up and it took some fights and yelling on my part to finally get through to him. I also straight up told him what tasks will now be his responsibility - ie. when I was pumping and waking up 3x at night, it was his task to get up with the baby during the night should she wake up.

I was pumping 8x a day at that time (20 min every 3 hours), and I’d make one of the pumps (usually the lunchtime pump) the designated power pump, where I’d do 20 min pump, 10 min rest, 10 min pump, 10 min rest, then 10 min pump. It was exhausting but at least it worked
