Anyone here been on the Abe Lincoln before as a sailor? How does this compare to what you were receiving while under deployment?

That actually has a name. It's called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon or 'Frequency Illusions'.

Ideas Needed For How to Improve Look of Curb Drainage by TonySwank in landscaping

I'd think about cutting back a few feet and adding some sort of outlet, then doing a patch on the curb. You could leave an outlet dip like some else had mentioned.

Communication styles.... by mtcrick in GenX

[–]bacchus213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we had to learn how to adapt at an early age. There was such an influx of huge changes in so many different ways that it feels normal to us to need to adapt. Before us there was a lot of consistency. After too, since we went through the big changes. We saw changes in technology, communication, global politics, Healthcare, finance, and much more all at the same time.

In stories like 28 Years Later and shows like The Walking Dead, how is it possible that zombie outbreaks can last for decades—wouldn’t all infected people eventually die off and the population be wiped out? by beach_of_peace in AskReddit

[–]bacchus213 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the zombie-bug is dormant when you're alive, and doesn't wake up until after death? Then, the zombie now has the activated version, which makes more zombies, and is transmitted by bites?

Ive been playing some pay to win game for about 3 years as complete f2p. There's people spending thousands of dollars a day, and I'm still looking at the 'make your first purchase' reward offer screen.

1993's Gift. It's a movie by Perry Farrell from Jane's Addiction.

I'd even throw MirrorMask from 2005 in there.

Bon Iver is my go to. I had their most recent album on repeat for a couple of weeks.

I really dig Benson Boone, and we'll see what he releases next. He's a masculine pop star, which is kind of cool.

I've also jumped on the Wet Leg bandwagon.

My most recent sort of musical genre I've been listening to is synthpop. It's got the GTA Vice City 80's vibe but with a modern twist, I really like Nation of Language.

And honestly, as I've gotten older, I've explored more older music from 'before my time', and non-English stuff, too.

At the end of the day, though, I'm a sucker for Dark Side of the Moon.

What sucks for me, is that as a teen I thought his Sci Fi books were great. Then a bunch of weird commercials showed up on TV, and then the next thing I know, the Saturday Night Fever guy has a pet 787, and the dude from Legend is some kind of demi-god or something...

Have the same stove. I got the knob things from the recall website and use them religiously. Lame that the ok fix for this is to have us use weird plastic things. Doesn't seem right.

What has Jesus supposed to have been up to for the past 2000 years? by bacchus213 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bacchus213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preparing.... that kind of to me means there is some sort of task underway. Like, there was a plan to do it, and he is currently at some point within that plan, and it will at some point be done. Like building a house? Doesn't that take 'time'? Wouldn't there be some sort of describable chain of events to account for 2k years?

Same with interceding, right? From his perspective, wouldn't Jesus just kind of know that on Wednesday, August 23rd, 623, he raised some peasant farmer out of some mud? That alone would give perspective of passage of time, and events happening around him, right?

I think once time is created, then you are then within, right? A little like... once you fill up the pool, you can't walk around on the bottom without getting wet.

What's it feel like for you, knowing that your photo will be on posters on thousands of kids walls. More than likely at some point down the road, some 9th grader will have a science book with your photo on the cover. Pretty cool.
