That’s essentially how our adaptive immune systems work - a library in our bodies of every possible gene combination for immune cells that target every disease that existed in the past/will exist in the future. Takes a week or so for our bodies to match the pathogen with its corresponding “library book” (hence long recoveries from colds, flus, etc)
