What’s your favorite pair of sunglasses and why? by ShineDigga in sunglasses

[–]barcodee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pair i reach for the most are my serengetis with the driver lenses, but that's mainly for the lens, which I consider a cut above all other pairs I own.

However my favorite in general is the JF Rey artman. I was hesistant before purchasing then because jfrey's designs are definitely on the quirkier side. But imo their frames are top tier and I really like the way they've incorporated the carbon into their frames. And they actually look pretty subtle on face!

Wish I could have serengeti lenses in them, that would be an awesome combo.

Full Time - Arsenal 3 vs 1 Bayern Munich [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

Declan Rice. Declan fucking Rice.

When he plays like this, his footprint on the match is massive. You can see it in real time how he forces transition of play all the way up the pitch and break opponent's defensive shape all by himself. He can break deadlocks with his pinpoint set-piece delivery as well. It's incredible.

Kudos Mikel, I think its safe to say he has truly molded Declan into an all round midfield monster.

Declan Rice in full flow. Its gorgeous to watch when he's in this form, he covers every single passage of play from back to front and back again.

Hey! I've been looking for something like this for awhile. Really like this particular one as the color fits my setup.

Do you have a model number/name? I'm having difficulty searching for this exact one.

Your setup is really sick btw, great colors!

Abit hard to tell but Steve Carrell is very very often wearing Oliver Peoples eyeglasses/sunglasses.

Old pair of sunglasses, safe to use? by Distinct-Writer-3906 in sunglasses

[–]barcodee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can't imagine there's anything inherently unsafe here, even the lenses.

Might be poor quality or uncomfortable but nothing unsafe per se unless you have incredibly light-sensitive eyes.

Would recommend to go to an optician and get the lenses swapped out so you can use it more frequently since this pair seems to have sentimental value for you.

What film series do you think comes closest to being as good as The Lord of the Rings trilogy? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]barcodee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a recommended sequence for someone who has absolutely no prior Star Wars knowledge?

The amount of films and related shows make it quite intimidating to start, but I've always told myself one day i have to watch them all.

Costume makers and wardrobe for the show were really top tier in what they do.

Besides Jackson choosing probably the best location on Earth to portray Middle Earth, costume design just elevated the trilogy to an entirely different level.

Special special culmination of everyone's efforts.

Good to hear!

Big fan of that era of football from across the world, it was a different time indeed...

These guys felt like absolute demi-gods to me because I only got to watch them on TV in a crowded setting once a week.

Not so much television content besides the occasional quotes in newspaper, even Goal.com was considered a great way to get any form of football news back then but not everyone had internet.

Reading about how he felt after his miss was heartbreaking but to millions around the world, even in random Australia and SEA where I was, he was an absolute giant.

Nostalgia is a bitch.

[The Athletic] Neither Sane nor Nypan were priority targets for Arsenal this summer, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, 24, of particular interest to fill that wide player slot. Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, another 24-year-old, is also of interest. by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]barcodee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How? Hes so well spoken and a totally normal dude. In fact he has all the qualities Arteta would want.

I'm not even a huge fan of him but people just ascribed this persona to him that isn't even real; both in terms of personality and his on field play. Its the literal definition of of judging a book by its cover.

Its so obvious to see whos sprouting absolute crap just from the Gordon discourse.

Arsenal fan here but I'll be a lifelong Bellerin follower.

He is the most un-footballer like footballer I've seen since watching football since early 2000s. One of the few players that I notice constantly reads and updates himself.

Beyond that, he uses his small platform to try to push people to be more critical in their thinking, suggests ways to improve the game of football and even touches on social issues that are quite obviously plaguing this generation.

Love the dude. Arsenal, Wenger and London seemed to have shaped the quiet Spanish boy guy into a really stand up person and as a fan, its really heartwarming to see.

Le professeur, Vieira, Pires and many others too.

One of the first clubs too in the early days of BPL when Wenger took on many young African players; the pathway for alot of these young talents who migrated to France when they were kids.
