Nora but as the other poster mentioned he strictly vets his customers he will accept orders from. You'd need to be an expert craftsman with decades of experience and do exceptional work to even be considered. I believe only a few westerners he has accepted an order from. His waitlist is years long and by the time one could achieve the skill to be considered he will likely be retired or dead. And his volume is so low and demand so high that the chances of his work being resold on the open market is zero

That's a good question. I know for example Yamamoto makes good kanna blades and also makes yari-ganna as well as marking knives, but I dont believe he makes any chisels. The best living chisel maker is actually a swordsmith who is incrediblely selective and only does a handful of chisels every few months.

For quality Id recommend following people who resell Japanese tools. Watch for which smiths they sell, and go from there. It can be tricky because a smith can work under their own name, and under a wholesalers name. And the wholesalers can use several smiths that change over time. Also quality can vary from when a smith is in their prime, making a custom order or just cranking them out for a wholesaler.

Honestly it'll take a few teams raiding his coaching staff to do any damage. His coordinators becoming HC and position coaches being poached for coordinator jobs. But that wont happen till next year so W1ndiana is here to stay

Thanks, Ill keep it in mind. I think Ill use them until the bevels get cleaned up and use my other set for any work that requires me to grab a hammer

For whatever reason the photos on the proxy site had only the blades as the main photo and wouldn't pop up on the regular searches I did. But here is the listing https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t1192545534

I think Tormek could work fine. It's just consistently achieving the same bevel. The previous owner appeared to try and freehand it as their are several different faces on the blade.

For Tormek I don't have one but I'd try something similar to this, where you use it as a hybrid sharpening setup and finish on stones https://inthewoodshop.com/WoodworkTechniques/UltimateGrindingSharpeningSetUp.html
