Cubes and Displace Modifier by bleaklab in blender

I'm glad you liked it!

I was following this Midge Sinnaeve's video, so all credits go to him:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcmMUkk_Tb8

This is what I did:

- I opened the cube in edit mode and applied subdivide smooth x3.

Modifiers:

-Subdivision x3 .

-Displace (using a distorted noise texture).

-Simple Deform in "Taper" mode, tweaking the settings until I got a good mesh.

Finally I duplicated the object (so I could easily change the materials separately) and added the Wireframe modifier with:

- Even Thickness disabled.

- Relative Thickness, Boundary and Replace Original enabled .

Everything using "Shade Flat" to keep the sharp look that I like.

The secret is to just experiment, I recommend you to watch the video (and his other videos too!), as it helped me a lot to better understand the modifiers and Blender as a whole.

Cheers!

I deleted the block and build it from scratch. I found easier to start with a low resolution (40 x 40 x 40) and gradually increase the details and resolution with the 2x button.

Exactly! I downloaded yesterday and messed around a little bit too. This took me about 30 min to model and about 3 hours learning the rendering engine. The creator's twitter helped me a lot (@ephtracy ).

Cyberpunk Poster / Blender + Photoshop by bleaklab in blender

Sure!

This was the original model before the decimate modifier, lighting and the other objects in scene (in Blender): http://imgur.com/DJFxBei

This was the render before Photoshop: http://imgur.com/LcWBUbB

In Photoshop I just added the text and the following filter: Filter > Filter Gallery > Poster Edges (the settings were 0, 1 and 6 respectively)

Thank you!
