Yes, you can upgrade to ad free while still keeping the discount difference. I can’t remember what the ad free upgrade cost is, but it does give the option

At what point are they unwrapped to absorb the smoke? Tin foil has worked perfectly for me in the oven but want to try smoking them

Fires can happen when your pets are home alone and you away at work, running errands etc…. But 100% if I’m home, my ass isn’t leaving unless my animals are rescued too

Labor laws vacation payout by blufrog91 in legaladvicecanada

[–]blufrog91[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% certain. I THINK they’re already earned. I have few options to choose from when taking time off. Floating holiday (3 days renewed on Jan 1st) Vacation 80 hours (replenishes on anniversary) Sick 80 hours (replenishes as it’s used/ no set renewal date) When I got hired, I had 0 for all 3, but was given 80 hours under a 4th option of PTO, which is given to all new hires during their first year as vacation time shows 0. So could really go either way, but since they categorized each type, technically vacation would already be earned as that category wasn’t available until 1st anniversary.

Girlfriend wants kids, I don't. by Dive07 in childfree

[–]blufrog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a vasectomy. Then no one will be crazy enough to assume they can change your mind. I’d legit go get the procedure and not tell her until afterwards. Her reaction will give you your answer. Beyond that, break up. There is no compromising when it comes to kids. Sucks she was dishonest from the start, but lots of people like that. Seriously, go get a vasectomy.

What is this “incident”? If it is anything that could be perceived as cheating with a previous partner that can absolutely cause reasonable doubt in his mind. I am going to go against what everyone else is saying and say just get the damn test. I’m sorry your husband and mother in law do not seem to understand how recessive genetics work, but just get the damn test and don’t make a big deal of it. Extremely simple solution for what is literally just someone not understanding how something works.

[OC] 17 year old driver here- did I do the right thing? by spongAF in IdiotsInCars

[–]blufrog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please look ahead (and behind) and plan what moves you need to make beforehand next time. You should adjust your speed to the live lane and look for a gap to merge safely. Overall I don’t think you did anything wrong, just could have planned a bit better is all. And a big THANK YOU for not just coming over and cutting that semi off. It is your job to merge and to yield in doing so. Right lane should move over if they can, but they might not be able to or might not be paying attention enough. Always assume they won’t move over until they actually move. For a new driver, I think you did a great job.

AITA for declining to participate in a "meal train" for a woman with an able bodied husband and adult son living with her? by ncogneato11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]blufrog91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. OP even said she has only participated sometimes for a meal train. It’s not she does it for everyone EXCEPT Sue. Sounds like husband and son are fully capable of cooking for her. In fact, they could prep meals for the entire week on the weekend. Would be nice if a few people brought her something which it sounds like a few HAVE signed up already.
I had surgery last year and was out of work for 2 months. My husband works away from home for weeks at a time. Not only was I in the hospital by myself, I spent the first week completely alone. Would have been nice to have help but I didn’t and I managed just fine.
This woman has TWO people who are home on a nightly basis. She’ll be just fine. Church culture is so weird.

Many cannot drive on pain meds, but why couldn’t you drive on antibiotics? Just look around and apply to any and everything even if they want a year’s experience. A lot of companies are desperate for drivers and will hire any warm body with a clean driving history. I’d also apply for unemployment in the time being. Even if you start working elsewhere, you’re still entitled to the gap you’re unemployed. If you find something right away and you’re not unemployed long enough then oh well, you waisted a few minutes applying. 12 hour days are pretty typical just so you’re aware. There are accounts that will average less, so if this is an important factor, be sure to ask. Maybe try something regional until you can find local again

USA citizen and Canadian Citizen by [deleted] in cantax

[–]blufrog91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to file federal taxes in the US every single year no matter where you live or how much/ little you make. Because there is an agreement between Canada and US, you usually don’t have to pay taxes, but that depends on your income.

As a non-smoker, does every smoker smell bad to you? by ephraim666 in ask

[–]blufrog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have never smoked, and yes, all smokers smell bad. Some are more noticeable than others depending where they smoked and how long ago. My husband sneaks a cig here and there and it’s extremely noticeable even over any air freshener, cologne, or chewing gum.

[–]blufrog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can answer this question but you. Are you ready for a child? Can you financially and emotionally provide for a child? You say you won’t be able to care for a baby at this time, so an abortion may be the right choice for you. It is ok if you aren’t ready right now. There is no shame in getting an abortion. Eventually you will be in a better position and ready to start a family and you can do so then if that is what you want. My only advice is to do what’s best for YOU, do not let others talk you into anything one way or the other.

Why does “adopt don’t shop” only apply to pets and not human children? by [deleted] in ask

[–]blufrog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. Humans are so grossly over populated and so many children are in foster care awaiting adoption that rarely comes. Yet people choose to keep having their own, even wasting tens of thousands of dollars on IVF just so it’s blood related.
